I am sure some of you might wonder why this post is in the lifestyle category. so let’s consider having a nice and soft skin as a lifestyle. I do and I wish you would agree. : ) body scrubs, exfoliators or peelings are basically the same, there are just different names used. try to use one where there are no plastic balls involved because it is not good for the planet and also not good for your skin.
M.ASAM has amazing body scrubs and I have tested some and I gotta to say: I found a favorite among them. my favorite one is called BROWN SUGAR. unfortunately I could not find it anymore on their online shop, but they have a very similar one that you can check here >> another one I have tried by M.ASAM is called 2015 and is a very nice slightly powdery fragranced scrub. the last one I have tried by them is called DREAM OF ROSES and I was only able to find the body cream – check here >> the cool thing about M.ASAM is that they sell scrubs and creams from the same fragrance and line. after the peeling I love using the same fragranced cream.
at M.ASAM you can customize the stick on label by adding text to the two bottom lines. also there are options to choose different background images. check the example here >> this makes it a very great CHRISTMAS present!
in the image above you can see a blue scrub (top) thats the one by CLINIQUE and I have used that one in summer a lot, it is a cool and fresh body scrub called SPARKLE SKIN BODY EXFOLIATOR this product is great for men and women as it has no fragrance. the other two are by M.ASAM. the middle one is DREAM OF ROSES and the bottom one is BROWN SUGAR. unforutnately I used up the 2015 body scrub already during summer but you can see the packaging in the photo below. for sure I will be talking about it in my next EMPTIES video on youtube.
how often and what for?
I use a body scrub every other day. in summer I like a cooling fresh one and in winter I like a nice warm scented one. in spring I use body scrubs before fake tanning but in general I think it is great to remove the old dead pieces of skin. after showering with a body scrub my skin feels amazingly soft and smooth. especially my ellbow, knees and heels like an extra scrub. body scrubs are great for men and women and I am sure that you will find something nice for you.
these are my favorite bronzing powders – I use for sure one of them every day. I am a huge bronzing powder fan and also love the new sculpting/contouring trend. eventhough the look very similar in the photo above, they are in fact not. #1 is a matte bronzing powder with absolutely no glitter or shine, this is perfect for all year around and is also a great color to use as an eyeshadow. #2 this one has a tiny bit of shimmer and glitter and is a touch warmer than the one previously mentioned. I dont like the brush that comes with it, somehow I was not able to achieve a nice and smooth looking bronzing/contouring with it. #3 this bronzing powder is a great mix between the first and second, it is not shimmery and has no glitter and shine but it is also not absolutely matte. a wonderful bronzing powder for throughout the year.
I got to try this new fragrance by CLINIQUE and I absolutely love the name and the packaging with its white bottle and golden ring around the lid. I also like the scent but I can’t see myself wearing this as I dont really like patchouli but I already have the perfect person in mind to wear it.
It is a modern fragrance touching base with natural ingredients for an elegant and mordern woman.
here you can find the overview of the ingredients:
top notes: violet leaf accord, cistus, sichuan pepper
middle notes: rose water essential, orange flower, patchouli heart
by CLINIQUE – here you can see the full range! I am sure there is something nice for you among these lovely products. you just have to use them daily in order for them to work and for you to see a difference.
there is something nice on the market very very soon: the SISLEY Paris phyto 4 ombres 2 mystery. I was one of the lucky bloggers that got one of these to play around and have fun with it. thank you SISLEY!
I indeed played with it and found some really nice looks with the gorgeous four colors. rather simple ones or more dramatic darker looks. As I love to compare things I wanted to compare it with the rather new CLINIQUE nutcracker palette.
PHYTO 4 OMBRES – 2 mystery
is a quartet of eye shadow that allows perfect control of color thanks to micronized pigments and ideal concentration. I love the texture of the eye shadows, its a mix between a powder and gel. the application is super easy and the eye shadows are very long-wearing. they do not leak into the wrinkles, nor in the folds of eyelids. the four colors make a variety of types of make-up looks – from rather natural to more intense to super dramatic also thanks to the various effects: matte bright, metallic and satin. MORE INFO >> here
THE NUTCRACKER ACT I – snowflake suite / plié pink
inspired by the timeless ballet classic the four shades of All About shadows, plus plié pink blush make an awesome and timeless palette. launched right before christmas it was perfect to celebrate the holidays with sparkly eyes and soft, sweet cheeks. but even now I find these gorgeous four eye shadows are so great for an everyday look. but also in that very case the colors can be mixed and transformed into different looks – from very decent to super dark. the colors are called: Sugar Cane – Crystal Pink – Mushroom and Boron. so as you may have figured out from my descriptions of the products I love them both! they are very different and can be combined for the perfect eye look. stay tuned for the photos with the looks on my FB page. xx
its saturday morning and I just did my makeup – a very easy one with focus on the eyes. check my nine steps:
step one SUPERDEFENSE by CLINIQUE
step two ALL ABOUT EYES primer by CLINIQUE
step three PERFECTIONIST by ESTÉE LAUDER
step four WONDER PENCIL by NYX
step five EYELASH CURLER by THE BODY SHOP
step six GABON eyeshadow by NARS
step seven SILLAGE eyeshadow by CHANEL
step eight ANSE SOLEIL lipliner by NARS
step nine ANITA lipstick by NARS
to start I use a good moisturizer with SPF 20 and apply it allover my face including my neck. then I use one of my favorite eye shadow primer and let it set so it wont crease with the eyeshadow. I like my skin to look a bit dewy and thats why I love the PERFECTIONIST foundation so much, it blends in very well and makes me look super healthy and fresh. then I conceal some spots around my nose and use the same pen to line my waterline (of course I wipe the pencil before doing so) after that it is time to curl my eyelashes and I will be ready to apply eyeshadow – first I apply the wonderful dark and sparkly eyeshadow and use the ligher color to blend as a transition color. done with the eyes – ready for the lips! I line my lips and use the very subtle almost nudish brown lipstick to fill in my lips. READY for the WEEKEND! photos of the look will be soon on my FB page – stay tuned. xx
yay, something new! the sonic brush is not so new, but the new cleansing foam is. I got both to try out and I absolutely love it. As I am also using the MIA2 I can really compare the two and I gotta admit that I prefer the clinique sonic brush. this post is only to show you whats new. I will get back to you with a more detailed post about the product. have a wonderful day. xx
one of my favorite looks – the bronzed sunkissed look. I can wear this everyday and never get tired of it. so one of my newer bronzing powders is the SUNKISSED by CLINIQUE and I gotta tell you that I am very much in love with this bugger. the product comes with a brush but I rather use one of my brushes to apply it. the brush that comes with the product can be very handy for short trips where you dont want to pack too many makeup products. in case u wanna shop it now – here is the link «
as I use bronzing powder almost every day I have quiet a variety of different ones. most of them are by M.A.C. 🙂 but I also have bronzingpoweders by BOBBI BROWN. TOM FORD. CLINIQUE. CATRICE. WET’N WILD and CLARINS.
thank you Jessy for being my model for this blogpost – you did an amazing job! I got the CLINIQUE all about shadow quad at the bloggers event a couple weeks a go and I was eager to try it out. I got number 09 in the shade smoke and mirrors. four beautiful colors – a light silver – a light grey – a sparkling black with silver particles and a black. I used all of the four colors on Jessys eyes.
I started with the lightest color and I applied it allover the lid. then I applied the second color the light grey in the crease and smooshed it out towards the middle of the eye. then I went in with the sparkling black and colored the outer v the last step I did was I took the fourth color the black one and I used it as an eyeliner allaround the eye. thats it – four simple steps for a dramatic smokey eye look!
and also something new! Clinique Switzerland has an onlineshop! yay! I have already mentioned this in a previous post – read more here >>
I can not wait to place my first order. for sure I will buy something for the body, maybe a nice scrub or so and I will try to find a nice chubby stick blush! but I will keep you posted about my online shopping!
09 smoke and mirrors ALL ABOUT SHADOW quad
11 intense clove QUICKLINER FOR EYES INTENSE
01 very fair ALL ABOUT SHADOW primer for eyes
48 matte petal LONG LAST SOFT MATTE LIPSTICK
I really like the smoke and mirror quad palette – a perfect thing to travel with as it has soft and more bold colors in different shades of grey. another favorite of mine is the long last soft matte lipstick – the color matte petal is absolutely beautiful – I could wear this color everyday! certain things that I have to use a bit more are the all about eyes eye primer – I have used it once and I liked it but I can not really tell you if I like it better than my other primers – I need a bit more time for that and I have not used the brown quickliner for eyes intense yet but actually I never had issues with pencils.
I also wanted to show you my new book “The Art of Perfect Hair” by Kérastase. 50 years of Kérastase – since 1964 – wow! congratulations! a very inspiring book with lots of beautiful photos and retro ads. maybe your hairsalon that carries Kérastase products will have a copy of this book – I am sure it will let time pass very fast once you start flipping thru the pages. have a look for yourself! enjoy! xx
chocolate on my pillow – room service – pajama party – peek a boo, I see you – these are the new CLINIQUE “A Different Nail Enamel” limited edition only avaialble for a short time! I can not tell you which color is my favorite one because I simply love them together the best. Jessy tested them for me and she loves them too and she says they dry very quick!
