I got asked to check out some Eucerin products and chose to explore the benefits and purposes of the DermatoCLEAN tonic and eye makeup remover. I have only heard great things about the Eucerin but have so far never used any of their products. Now lets see what I have found out about the tonic and eye makeup remover.
It claims to gently remove all cleanser traces and lets the skin breathe more easily. Furthermore it has been tested on sensitive skin. This is a big PLUS. So many people have sensitive skin, including me. And therefore it is always great to hear that a product has been tested for exactly this kind of skin type.
The main reason to use a tonic after cleansing ones face is to prepare the skin better for regeneration and the following serums and or creams. The skin feels noticeably clean and soothed and clearly delicate and supple. I have loved their tonic and was surprised to read that it is for all skin types, eventhough it was tested for sensitive skin. Another great thing is that the tonic contains no alcohol. The biggest results and benefits of using a tonic are to let the skin breathe. By daily using a tonic before moisturizing the oxygen uptake improves significantly. And therefore the skin moisture improves too.
In case you have never used a tonic before, here is how you would use it.
Apply to a cotton pad and wipe gently over the face, neck and décolleté to prepare the skin optimally for the absorption of the next active ingredients. In my case I stopped using cotton pads and am using the JEMAKO pads instead. Like this I produce less trash and do something for a better place to live on. I can highly recommend them to you.
I have read that Eucerin has performed scientific tests and conducted controlled application studies with participants between the ages of 18 and 75.
Now here is a list of the ingredients. I love the fact that they are listed on their website and also very nicely described here >>
It claims to remove gently and thoroughly ones eye make-up and water-resistant mascara. Especially with summer ahead, a lot of women are using waterproof mascaras and are in need for a good and gentle remover. A non-greasy, two-phase formula comprising: an upper layer for removing water-proof make-up and a lower layer for removing water-soluble make-up. By shaking it the two phases are getting activated and are ready to be used.
Eyes are the windows to our souls. I love that saying and totally agree. We can see if someone is tired or sad by looking into their eyes. Also one can tell if someone is taking good care of their skin. The eye area has super sensitive skin and it is very important to be very gentle. Like the tonic also the eye makeup remover has been tested on sensitive skin. And aswell it claims to be for all skin types. I was very happy to read that they have conducted controlled application studies with participants aged 18 to 75 who had partially sensitive skin.
I guess its clear to everyone how to use eyemakeup remover, but one never knows. So here we go: Shake well to mix the two phases. Apply to a cotton pad. Gently wipe from the inside outwards over the eye area until no remover is left on the cotton pad.
I hope you have found this blogpost interesting. In case you have a favorite product by Eucerin, please share it with all of us in the comments. Have a lovely day. X

I got an eye lash extension at Kosmetik Jessica in Liestal and I absolutely love the result. So without further ado I want to show you how she did it and wanna tell you a bit more about my extensions.
eye lash extension at KOSMETIK JESSICA in LIESTAL:
This photo was taken right after I had the lash extension done. My eyes were a bit watery but that was the only negative side affect that I have experienced. As I mentioned in the video, I went back and had a full set applied. In the video and in the photo below there are only a few lashes added. I naturally have nice lashes and I hardly ever wear mascara but the thing that I had to do every day was using the eye lash curler. My lashes are long but rather straight. So in my case the eye lash extension gives me this lovely lift and curled lashes.
Jessica is able to extend your lashes for up to 2 mm. In case you think that this is not enough then she is not the right person for you. but actually 2 mm makes quiet a difference. In fact the extension is not about length, its about volume, lift and curl. I acheived all of this with the 1 to 1 eye lash extension method. Jessica glued a fake lash to my natural lash. There is also the fan lash extension where she glues 3 smaller and thinner lashes to one of your natural lashes. The 1 to 1 is more casual and not as dramatic as the fan lash or also called 3D lash extension.
The lashes fall out, either together with your natural lashes or sometimes they can also fall out without your natural lashes. I kept almost all the lashes that fell out. As you can see in the photo below, there are lashes with natural lashes and some without. Every morning I brush my lashes with the spoolie brush that I got from Jessica. I really recommend to do that at least once a day in order to keep the lashes nicely and separated. The lash extension feels very natural, this really surprised me. I can still rub my eyes and I can clean my face like I did before. The only thing to change is to not use any oily makeUp remover around the eyes. Jessica is using GL Alessandro lashes and that’s also where she has learned how to do extensions.
In case you are from Basel or Basel-Land and you are thinking about a lash extension then you should def check out Kosmetik Jessica’s website. Besides the eye lash extension she also does sugar hair removing and brow shaping with the oriental thread method. At the moment she is going to school to become a cosmetician. So soon she will be able to do lots more.
for all the readers that live in BASEL, there is a LA PRAIRIE booth inside GLOBUS. I was invited to check it out. LA PRAIRIE is a swiss company known for their prestigious ingredients like caviar or crystals. read more here >>
after a very nice welcome I was served a cold glass of water and was ready for the presentation. we quickly talked about the different lines and their benefits and then she started to ask me questions about my skin and recommended some products:
so let me tell you that I am not a big fan of their crazy high prices and that I am not willing to pay so much money for daily skincare. I got samples and I started using them for some days and had terrible breakouts, for my sensitive skin LA PRAIRIE is way too active.
first I was not sure if I should mention LA PRAIRIE at all as my skin did not like the recommended products but nevertheless I was invited to see the new booth inside GLOBUS, had a lovely time there and therefore I wanted to share these news with you.
I tried out something new and now it is finally the time to share it with you. I got two nice things by MAX FACTOR X and had fun playing around. as you can see from the caption of this blogpost, I really like both of the things. so lets first have a look what I am talking about:
MAX FACTOR X SMOKEY EYE DRAMA KIT
04 luxe lilas so lets start with the eye shadow kit. a great palette for green and hazel brown eyes as it brings out the green due to the purple and lilac color shades. I wanna quickly review the shades from left to right: the first shade is an awesome base color and eyebrow bone highlighter. it can be used for a very natural eye look for a very simple and nude makeup. then we have the two lilac purple colors that are great to play with around the lash line or use it as a V in the outer eye corner for a more dramatic and smokey look. the last color is like the first one an awesome base color or can be used to give some definition to the crease. for an inbetween look I would suggest using the first and last color, using the first one as a base and on the eye brow bone and the last one to shade the crease. voila! thats it, one palette with multiple options for different looks. and now lets talk about the foundation, it is a foundation with a great coverage. perfect for people with redness or want to cover blemishes. I got the 50 natural shade and it is a tint to light for me. so I can only use a tiny bit and apply a ver light layer and then use bronzing powder and blush to bring back my face color. but winter has only started and my bikini lines are fading, I am sure my face will be lighter in two months and that it then will be the perfect shade. I will try to show you my created looks via my social media channels, which you can also access via the blog by clicking here>>
these are my favorite brushes and I almost use them on a daily basis. and now I wanna tell you why and for what I love them so much. #1 has the perfect shape for around the eyes and nose, I use it for powder, foundation or concealer. #2 this brush is an allrounder, I use it for highlighter, for blush, to blend contouring, for concealing and for foundation. #3 my go to sculpting brush, it has the perfect shape for my cheeks, jawline and forehead. #4 I use this bugger to smudge my eyeliner, to apply eyeshadow under the eyes and to conceal blemishes. #5 my number one blending brush, it works like magic, I use it for the crease and move with windshield wiping strokes to perfectly blend the shadows. #6 this one is perfect for loose or compact powder, I use it allover the face.
and by the way, did you know that Estée Lauder now has a swiss online shop? I tried it out and ordered some nice things for my mom, the service is great, fast delivery and extra goodies. have a lovely monday and I would love to know which are your favorite brushes. please leave a comment. sharing is caring, right? X
I am already more than 3 weeks back from vacation and I totally forgot to tell you what makeUp I took with me to Castellammare del Golfo in Sicily. So now I finally found time and here we go:
I took 5 different eyeshadows and a blusher by ARTDECO and I put them in a MAC palette. all the ARTDECO powder products like blusher and eyeshadows have a tiny magnet on the back so they are made to be stored in a palette. perfect for vacation as you can put together your individual palette. in general in summer or in summer vacation I am not applying MakeUp every day but in the evening after a long day on the beach it is nice to pamper oneself and wear a nice dress and go for dinner. well thats what I did. I was only wearing the makeUp in the evening as it was way too hot to wear makeUp during the day..
a sparkly pale brown
a matte stale blue
a warm matte dark mauve
a pale light matte brown
a matte light powdery beige
a nice warm almost pan of terracota
so as you can see out of the 5 eyeshadows 4 of them are matte and only one has shimmer.I either wore a simple look or a more smokey look.
I start with 551 all over the lid and highlight the parts below the brows. 16 in the crease.
SMOKEY LOOK 551 all over the lid and highlight the parts below the brow and the inner corner of the eyes. then I take 506 and cutting the crease. and using 517 and 520 to blend it towards the eyelid.
awesome pigmentation and no fall out thats exactly what I want from eyeshadows – I will for sure get more of these in order to have more shimmery shadows too. will keep you posted.
where can you get these ARTDECO products? I found mine at parfumcity.ch they have awesome deals and since it is a swiss online shop you dont have to pay any extra charges from the customs. ARTDECO is a german brand and is based in Karlsfeld Germany.
I DID IT – I tested some MASCARAS and had a bit of help with testing them. I am not a daily mascara user and I had my issues with several other mascaras before so therefore I am the best judge 🙂 I found all of them for very very decent prices at the parfumcity online shop and I couldnt believe what awesome products they sell there, absolutely worth to visit. ok, lets have a look at different mascaras for different purposes.
ASTOR big and beautiful boom killer volume mascara
oh wow – yes this mascara makes BIG and BEAUTIFUL lashes. I love the wand and the product stays put the whole day without irritating my eyes.. I hate it when mascaras flake and often the tiny parts end up in my eyes – so thats a BIG plus for that one and actually all the other ones I have tested. not one flaked! another nice thing is that you can either wear one coat for a rather casual look and then later on apply more coats for a more dramatic eyemakeup. 11.75 CHF (mascara 12ml, makeupremover)
BOURJOIS PARIS volume glamour mascara
this mascara promises VOLUME and GLAMOUR and I felt both, the wand separates the lashes and therefore applies more volume the glamour factor comes with the rest of the makeup and the compliments that one gets for her mascara! compared to the ASTOR mascara this one is a bit more decent and less dramatic. perfect for everyday business look. 10.75 CHF (mascara 12ml + kajal)
BOURJOIS PARIS volume 1 second mascara volume in one second, well that was not true for me as it takes me a bit longer to apply mascara 🙂 but once I was done there was the volume. so far all of the mascaras have held their promises and thats a big PLUS. the 1 SECOND volume mascara has a medium sized wand and separates the lashes like the volume glamour mascara. I felt like this one is a bit more dramatic than the one mentioned before. but still after layering a couple of coats I had a very stunning eye look. 13.00 CHF (mascara 12ml)
LANCOME hypnose drama mascara
the queen among the mascaras and not only due to its prize. I can really see a difference between this high end product and the rather cheaper ones. so in the end you get what you pay. I know, it is not always the case, some cheaper products can do more than other more expensive ones but with the mascaras I gotta stick to what I said. you feel the difference in the consistency and how easy it can be removed. thats a huge bonus because our eyes area are very sensitive and rubbing the eyes with a cotton pad full of eye makeup remover irritates the skin. I got the DRAMA mascara in a set with eyemakeUp remover and I found that a great deal! 40.75 CHF (mascara + eyemakeup remover + eye cream)
and OOH BOY – look at those gorgeous pieces by maccosmetics.com. I have already mentioned them in my previous YT video and now I wanna talk a little bit more about them and give you some details.
GENUINE TREASURE pro longwear paint pot
PREENING satin eye shadow
HOLYWOOD CERISE lipstick
MAKE ME GORGEOUS lipstick
all of those products work very nice together and I am looking forward to create some cool looks. the different greens can be worn with the nice paint pot shimmer and top it off with a bright lip color! the ivy and preening can be layered or used seperately also the paint pot can be worn as a very simple eye look. stay tuned for more via my YT videos. have a lovely weekend. yes, we all have to treat ourselves every now and then! and I did yesterday at MANOR – I stumbled upon the new courrèges collection for Estée Lauder! sigh, what a super nice collection with a shimmering bronzing powder a cute tiny brush that is perfect for travelling, two eyeshadows, several lip products and fake eyelashes. out of the whole collection I was absolutely fascinated by the minty green-ish shimmering eyeshadow. it reminds me so much of a mermaid! and zack – I had to have it! at the moment you get 10% off when paying with the MANOR card and some brands even add another 10% not the case with Estée Lauder but at least I got 10% off. instead of 39 CHF it was 35.10 CHF – a tiny bargain!
here you can watch my lovely YT video about the new eyeshadow and soon I will show you a makeUp look where you can see me play around with it.
we did it again – hahahaha, yes we again had fun with makeUp and this time I used the new SHISEIDO products among many other products. as a base I used the LANCOME CUSHION MIRACLE my newest favorite foundation and the ESTÉE LAUDER DOUBLE WEAR BRUSH ON GLOW. then I used the CHANEL 85 SILLAGE eyeshadow all over the lid. afterwards I applied the new SHISEIDO SHIMMERING CREAM EYE COLOR in the outer corner of the eye all away along the crease of the eyelid. then I used another creamy eyeshadow by M.A.C called DANGEROUS CUVÉE paint pot and also smudged it in the outer V of the eye and all the way up to the crease. unfortunately I couldnt find a picture of the dark grey ESSENCE eyeliner I have used to line the lashline. as Diana was wearing glasses that evening I decided to define her eyes a bit more by using the new ELECTRIC COBALT by ESTÉE LAUDER on the lower lash line but only from the outer corner to the middle. to bring in some more color I used the SHISEIDO VEILED ROUGE in the shade RD 506 – a beautiful warm rosy pink. another new product that I have used, but also couldnt find a photo, was the new SHISEIDO PERFECTING STICK concealer. that’s it – it was very easy and I am sure you can do something nice too!
there is something nice on the market very very soon: the SISLEY Paris phyto 4 ombres 2 mystery. I was one of the lucky bloggers that got one of these to play around and have fun with it. thank you SISLEY!
I indeed played with it and found some really nice looks with the gorgeous four colors. rather simple ones or more dramatic darker looks. As I love to compare things I wanted to compare it with the rather new CLINIQUE nutcracker palette.
PHYTO 4 OMBRES – 2 mystery
is a quartet of eye shadow that allows perfect control of color thanks to micronized pigments and ideal concentration. I love the texture of the eye shadows, its a mix between a powder and gel. the application is super easy and the eye shadows are very long-wearing. they do not leak into the wrinkles, nor in the folds of eyelids. the four colors make a variety of types of make-up looks – from rather natural to more intense to super dramatic also thanks to the various effects: matte bright, metallic and satin. MORE INFO >> here
THE NUTCRACKER ACT I – snowflake suite / plié pink
inspired by the timeless ballet classic the four shades of All About shadows, plus plié pink blush make an awesome and timeless palette. launched right before christmas it was perfect to celebrate the holidays with sparkly eyes and soft, sweet cheeks. but even now I find these gorgeous four eye shadows are so great for an everyday look. but also in that very case the colors can be mixed and transformed into different looks – from very decent to super dark. the colors are called: Sugar Cane – Crystal Pink – Mushroom and Boron. MORE INFO >> here
so as you may have figured out from my descriptions of the products I love them both! they are very different and can be combined for the perfect eye look. stay tuned for the photos with the looks on my FB page. xx
its saturday morning and I just did my makeup – a very easy one with focus on the eyes. check my nine steps:
step one SUPERDEFENSE by CLINIQUE
step two ALL ABOUT EYES primer by CLINIQUE
step three PERFECTIONIST by ESTÉE LAUDER
step four WONDER PENCIL by NYX
step five EYELASH CURLER by THE BODY SHOP
step six GABON eyeshadow by NARS
step seven SILLAGE eyeshadow by CHANEL
step eight ANSE SOLEIL lipliner by NARS
step nine ANITA lipstick by NARS
to start I use a good moisturizer with SPF 20 and apply it allover my face including my neck. then I use one of my favorite eye shadow primer and let it set so it wont crease with the eyeshadow. I like my skin to look a bit dewy and thats why I love the PERFECTIONIST foundation so much, it blends in very well and makes me look super healthy and fresh. then I conceal some spots around my nose and use the same pen to line my waterline (of course I wipe the pencil before doing so) after that it is time to curl my eyelashes and I will be ready to apply eyeshadow – first I apply the wonderful dark and sparkly eyeshadow and use the ligher color to blend as a transition color. done with the eyes – ready for the lips! I line my lips and use the very subtle almost nudish brown lipstick to fill in my lips. READY for the WEEKEND! photos of the look will be soon on my FB page – stay tuned. xx
thank you Jessy for being my model for this blogpost – you did an amazing job! I got the CLINIQUE all about shadow quad at the bloggers event a couple weeks a go and I was eager to try it out. I got number 09 in the shade smoke and mirrors. four beautiful colors – a light silver – a light grey – a sparkling black with silver particles and a black. I used all of the four colors on Jessys eyes.
I started with the lightest color and I applied it allover the lid. then I applied the second color the light grey in the crease and smooshed it out towards the middle of the eye. then I went in with the sparkling black and colored the outer v the last step I did was I took the fourth color the black one and I used it as an eyeliner allaround the eye. thats it – four simple steps for a dramatic smokey eye look!
