C&A FALL WINTER COLLECTION 2016

C&A fall winter collection 2016
thank you C&A for taking me to Amsterdam and showing me the upcoming C&A fall winter collection 2016. with weather in june like this I feel that I am not far away from wearing fall/winter clothes and can not wait to shop my fall winter collection. the weather has been a serious nightmare with endless rain and very cool temperatures. I can not believe that it was warmer in april than it is in june. nevertheless, I wanna tell you a bit more about the presentation of the fall winter collection 2016.
the location of the event was spectacular. there was a beautiful green C&A logo in the entrance that led into a round event hall that had a black curtain drawn all around. after a quick introduction the curtain was lifted and a 360 degree fashion show with the complete fall winter collection 2016 was behind it.

that was a wonderful surprise. we were then divided into groups and got an introduction to every collection: men, denim, lingerie, clockhouse, accessories etc. we were given tags with our name and publication title and had the possibility to give them feedback by hanging them to your favorite piece. let me tell you, there are going to be soooo many cool pieces for the fall winter collection 2016 that it was really hard to place only four cards 🙂

the big thing of the new collection is going to be denim. there is a new collection in bio cotton with new shapes and cuts. we will see the return of flare leg, bootcut and highrise. for men there is going to be a new trend called stacked, that means that the jeans are too long and stack on the bottom. for women there will be a cropped bootcut and cropped flare cut and as already mentioned there is going to be the return of the high rise. my favorite denim pieces are the quitled indigo jacket and the bow tie blouse.
in addition to the new denim collection there is a nature inspired color palette with comfy and warm colors that give you the need to cover yourself up. inspired by the idea that nature should be part of everyday life, the fall winter collection uses organic textures and delicate feminine detailing to create beautiful pieces to wrap up warm in.
there are going to be some really cool pieces like a asymmetric poncho, a checked belted coat or the white knitted longline coat that you can see in the picture below (and in the back you can see a lady wearing the denim bow tie blouse).

aaawww, these are my two favorite pieces, the white longline coat and the short beige faux leather jacket. and soon there will be an overview with my favorite items of the fall winter collection with inspiration on how to wear all those cool new fall winter pieces. stay tuned.

Synchronicity by Robin Meier

Synchronicity

For the inaugural Audemars Piguet Art Commission, Meier’s immersive installation will be presented at the Volkshaus, Basel. Meier’s large-scale installation will connect disparate fields by harmonising music, fireflies, bioluminescent bacteria and crickets to a common pulse.

The viewer will be invited to walk through the installation to witness all of these self-synchronising organisms and systems beating together, as if driven by a single rhythmic force. This will fill the entire exhibition space with a unique pulsating rhythm. Through the help of Audemars Piguet forming introductions to specialised laboratories and scientists, Meier has traveled the globe to research specific fireflies and insects. Through this, Meier has investigated how this order emerges from chaos and uses this scientific research as a tool to express artistic ideas within his new installation.

well that sounds really interesting and I am very much looking forward to attending the event on tuesday in basel. more info via my social media channels. stay tuned!

about AUDEMARS PIGUET ART COMISSION

The Audemars Piguet Art Commission supports artists in the creation of works of exceptional complexity, precision and experiential impact on an ongoing, annual basis. The commissioned art works are overseen by an annual guest curator and selected by an international jury. They presented to the public to coincide with Art Basel’s editions in Basel, Hong Kong, and
Miami Beach, and subsequently, where possible, at a public art institution. As part of the Commission, Audemars Piguet provides to the invited artist the necessary resources and secures access to advanced tools, craft expertise, or sophisticated technology to realize important new creative projects. http://www.audemarspiguet.com/en/art

Audemars Piguet is delighted to present behind-the-scenes footage of Synchronicity, an immersive installation by Swiss artist Robin Meier, which will be presented as the inaugural Audemars Piguet Art Commission. Meier has worked with the commission’s renowned guest curator, Marc-Olivier Wahler, and Audemars Piguet on the production of a major new artwork to be exhibited at the Volkshaus, coinciding with Art Basel in Basel, 2015. Based on the theme of “synchronicity” and the spontaneous emergence of patterns in nature, Meier’s installation explores the underlying mathematical rules of self-organisation among fireflies, computers, crickets, sounds, and electromagnetic pendulums.

SCHLOSS HERZFELDE / CASTLE HERZFELDE (D)

it was so nice to stay two days in the countryside at the beautiful castle HERZFELDE and spend some time in the nature. I loved wearing my new GANNI blouse and my selfmade summer hat and strolling thru the fields. the blouse is an amazing keypiece for floral outfits. I can pair it with highwaist shorts, jeans or a skirt – everything goes!

R O B E R T & J O S I A N E s k i n c a r e

I was at the changemakershop in Basel, Switzerland  and discovered this amazing skincare brand called ROBERT AND JOSIANE. I liked their products so much that I wanted to feature them on my blog and therefore I asked them 4 questions about themselves and their brand.

Thank you so much for your time Robert and Josiane!

Interview
1. How did Robert & Josiane start their business – whats the background?
We’re a couple that realised in the late nineties, that we wanted to extend our romantic relationship into our daily work. After a few years of looking for the right field we came upon cosmetics. With
Robert as a biologist with his love for nature and his talent to experiment with ingredients, and Josiane as a former teacher with her passion for scents and poetry, we were the perfect match also for our new project. The result is an outstanding line of natural cosmetic products, a source of wellbeing and full of poetry.

2. How do you come up with such great names and packaging?

Each product is inspired by personal experiences and moments of our lives. Our Body Lotion “Die Gärten von Alfabia” (The Gardens of Alfabia) for instance is a remembrance of a stroll in the peaceful gardens of Alfabia on the island of Mallorca. And with “Die Wilde” (Soap Bar) we tried to catch the feeling of standing at the West Coast of British Columbia, where Robert lived during the first years of his childhood.

3. Where do you sell your products?

They can of course be purchased at our Webshop. But also in pharmacies, organic shops and concept stores.

4. What is the newest product or is there something new in the pipeline that you could share?

Our latest product is our facial cream “Tagundnachtgleiche” (“Equinox”), with the wonderful oil from raspberry seeds. The next product to appear will be our winter product “Wunder-bar”, which is a body butter scented with spanish cistus and moroccan cedar. Just perfect for cuddling and for dry skin. As a seasonal product it’s available in winter only.
