dry shampoo had a real revival during the last couple of years, I remember when I was a teenager I only saw my grandma using these kind of products. but now the market is flooded with dry shampoos – for different hair colors and with different scents.
lets start with the BATISTE brand – they are very well known for their dry shampoos because thats what they do. I am super happy that one can now buy them in switzerland too. before I had to buy them in france. there are different scents, like TROPICAL or BLUSH but my true favorite is the one for dark hair. eventhough I have colored my hair lighter at the ends my roots are still dark and therefore I love using a dry shampoo that matches my hair color.
another nice dry shampoo is by REDKEN and it is called PILLOW PROOF. what a funny name. also this bugger works for me and I really like the scent of it. unfortunately the powder is light, so it takes me some time to blend it in. but after a couple of strokes with my brush it looks neat and fresh.
do you wonder how dry shampoos work and why I use them?
back in the days I was washing my hair almost every or every second day. about two or three years ago I started washing my hair only twice a week and I saw a huge difference in my hair. washing your hair too often is not good for your hair and if you have colored hair it will fade a lot faster. so of course you can not just switch from washing your hair every day to washing it only once or twice a week. these things take some time. your scalp needs time to adapt. during that process dry shampoo comes in handy as you can spray it to your roots when you would have actually needed to wash your hair. in my case my scalp started looking less greasy and now my hair is absolutely used to only being washed twice a week. the dry shampoo absorbs the grease from your scalp, mmhhm sounds lovely, but its effective and easy to do. spray it to your roots and use a brush to blend in the powder. its super easy, you will see.
these are my favorite brushes and I almost use them on a daily basis. and now I wanna tell you why and for what I love them so much. #1 has the perfect shape for around the eyes and nose, I use it for powder, foundation or concealer. #2 this brush is an allrounder, I use it for highlighter, for blush, to blend contouring, for concealing and for foundation. #3 my go to sculpting brush, it has the perfect shape for my cheeks, jawline and forehead. #4 I use this bugger to smudge my eyeliner, to apply eyeshadow under the eyes and to conceal blemishes. #5 my number one blending brush, it works like magic, I use it for the crease and move with windshield wiping strokes to perfectly blend the shadows. #6 this one is perfect for loose or compact powder, I use it allover the face.
and by the way, did you know that Estée Lauder now has a swiss online shop? I tried it out and ordered some nice things for my mom, the service is great, fast delivery and extra goodies. have a lovely monday and I would love to know which are your favorite brushes. please leave a comment. sharing is caring, right? aaww.. these products are amazing! they all do their one certain job very perfectly. something against the sun – something for a nice self tan without being exposed to the sun – another nice product that makes you look like you have spent the weekend in the sun with a couple of moves – a CC cream to protect the hair and a super nice soothing cooling aloe gel for the face after a day in the sun!
I am soon packing my bags for my roadtrip to ITALY and for sure I am going to bring these!
for more than 10 years I am using the DOVE original deo and the silky Body Creme. two awesome products to be used every day!
I love it when you can be sure that nor the fragrance nor the texture is going to change – just because you know that it can not get any better! in spring I really like the DOVE sunshine to tan my white legs and be prepared for summer. which is your favorite DOVE product? Is it listed among my favorites?
