SIMPLE BODY SCRUB DIY

SIMPLE BODY SCRUB DIY

SIMPLE BODY SCRUB DIY

Today I wanna share a very simple body scrub DIY with all of you. Something that is done super easy and can be changed in many ways. Now lets see what you need inorder to make these body scrubs. I made two different scrubs, one with coffee and one with lemons and oranges.
things you need
coffee
salt
sea salt
coconut oil
lemons
oranges
grater
mason jars

SIMPLE BODY SCRUB DIY

step one:
In this DIY I show you how I made the coffee body scrub. Take some coffee grounds and mix it with 2 tabelspoons of coconut oil. In case your coffee grounds is still warm then you dont have to heat the coconut oil, if not I would suggest to heat it up a bit.

step two:
Add three tablespoons of normal table salt and six tablespoon of sea salt. Mix everything. And that was it. Super easy and simple. It only takes three steps and it is a great way to recycle coffee grounds.
How to make the orange and lemon body scrub:
For the lemon and orange body scrub you start with the normal and sea salt. Then you grate the peel of a lemon and orange. Squeeze the juice of the lemon and orange and mix it with the salt. Then add the coconut oil and mix everything. Again, thats all I did for this second scrub.

I use the scrubs two to three times a week after washing my body. The most amazing thing about these scrubs is, that you dont have to use any body lotion. The coconut oil totally does that job. The scrubs leave your skin super soft and especially in winter our skin can need some extra pampering.
I made these scrubs so many times and I love how simple it is. There are many ways to change them. Instead of coconut oil one could add massage oils or any other scented oils. Or you could add some fresh vanilla to the coffee scrub in order to make it a tad sweeter. The best parts about these scrubs are that you dont end up with any plastic trash and you save lots of money. Coconut oil, salt, lemons and oranges are quiet affordable and easy to find. So I would love to hear from you. Did you make any scrubs? If so, what did you use?

BODY SCRUB TIME

Body Scrub

I am sure some of you might wonder why this post is in the lifestyle category. so let’s consider having a nice and soft skin as a lifestyle. I do and I wish you would agree. : ) body scrubs, exfoliators or peelings are basically the same, there are just different names used. try to use one where there are no plastic balls involved because it is not good for the planet and also not good for your skin.

M.ASAM has amazing body scrubs and I have tested some and I gotta to say: I found a favorite among them. my favorite one is called BROWN SUGAR. unfortunately I could not find it anymore on their online shop, but they have a very similar one that you can check here >> another one I have tried by M.ASAM is called 2015 and is a very nice slightly powdery fragranced scrub. the last one I have tried by them is called DREAM OF ROSES and I was only able to find the body cream – check here >>  the cool thing about M.ASAM is that they sell scrubs and creams from the same fragrance and line. after the peeling I love using the same fragranced cream.

FUN FACT
at M.ASAM you can customize the stick on label by adding text to the two bottom lines. also there are options to choose different background images. check the example here >> this makes it a very great CHRISTMAS present!

in the image above you can see a blue scrub (top) thats the one by CLINIQUE and I have used that one in summer a lot, it is a cool and fresh body scrub called SPARKLE SKIN BODY EXFOLIATOR this product is great for men and women as it has no fragrance. the other two are by M.ASAM. the middle one is DREAM OF ROSES and the bottom one is BROWN SUGAR. unforutnately I used up the 2015 body scrub already during summer but you can see the packaging in the photo below. for sure I will be talking about it in my next EMPTIES video on youtube.

BODY SCRUB

how often and what for?
I use a body scrub every other day. in summer I like a cooling fresh one and in winter I like a nice warm scented one. in spring I use body scrubs before fake tanning but in general I think it is great to remove the old dead pieces of skin. after showering with a body scrub my skin feels amazingly soft and smooth. especially my ellbow, knees and heels like an extra scrub. body scrubs are great for men and women and I am sure that you will find something nice for you.

SOMETHING NEW

Kérastase has launched a new luxurious line called CHRONOLOGISTE for salons and for at home use. they discovered the new molecule ABYSSINE in the vulcano grounds of the pacific deep sea that completely changes the way we can treat our hair. I was told that the line will be available from February on in the selected Kérastase salons and shops that sell their products in retail.

I am super happy to try these buggers out and so far it has not been hairwash day so I can only tell you something about the new perfume oil (parfum en huile) as this is the only product I have tested yet. so it is a very light leave in oil to perfectly seal the hair and make it look shiny and above all that it makes your hair smell really really good. mmhhmm – the fragrance of the oil is a mix of roses myrrh, musk and woody accords. It reminds me a bit of the CLINIQUE scent BEYOND ROSE just in a lighter version. I read that it will be sold for 59 CHF and the bottle holds 120 ml. I know a rather pricy product but I am already convinced that it is worth every frank. <3 I dye my hair quiet frequently and I can really see that it is getting a bit drier due to that very fact and also the dry winter heating air.

new collection:
PARFUME EN HUILE 120 ml 59 CHF
rose – musk – myrrh and woody accords
CRÈME DE RÉGÉNÉRATION mask 200 ml 59 CHF
abyssine – vitamin F – ceramide – vitamin E
BAIN REVITALISANT shampoo 250 ml 31 CHF
abyssine – vitamin F – ceramide – vitamin E
SOIN GOMMAGE RÉNOVATEUR 200 ml 49 CHF
abyssine – vitamin F

RITUALS TIME

a couple of weeks ago I went to Freiburg Germany for a small shopping tour with my mom. of course I had to visit one of my favorite shops there and I still can not wait to have a RITUALS store in basel. here << you can check if there is a shop in your area. everytime I go to a RITUALS shop, so far I have been to the one in Amsterdam and Freiburg, I stack up on the foaming shower gels. my first favorite was the T’AI CHI with white lotus and green tea, then I discovered the HAMMAM DELIGHT with fresh eucalyptus and rosemary and this time I found two new favorites: SAMURAI SHOWER with organic bamboo and cedar wood and the other one is called DIWALI DELIGHT with patchouli and cardamom. so I have four favorites and they all smell very uniquely different and of course I bought two of each to be sure to get thru fall/winter 🙂

BEAUTY SUNDAY

with lushcosmetics

I just got out of the hot tub – soaking with HONEY BEE – a mix of honey, aloe vera and rhassoul. mmhhmm.. the smell of it is delicous. but I gotta warn you – it stained my tub and I had a moment to remove the yellow residues. but I think it was totally worth it. these four products where on my LUSH #wishlist but luckily my LUSH dreams already came true. thanks so much! as soon as I have tried the other products I will get back to you. Which is your favorite LUSH product?

Honey Bee
Sex Bomb
Sultana of Soap
Ceridwens Cauldron

IN THE SHOWER

in-shower is the new thing! I have tested the NIVEA in-shower lotions and milks and I got totally hooked. in winter I am feeling too cold to apply lotion and in summer I m too hot – so when I discovered these products I knew that this was exactly my thing.

so how to use it? first you use your normal showergel or creme or whatever you use to wash your body. once you are clean you can apply the in-shower lotion. make sure not to drop any product as it can be very slippery – so be aware! the in-shower body lotions are like a conditioner. you apply it once the body is clean and then rinse it off and ready you are. my skin is very dry and thats why I like the in-shower body milk (darkblue) the best.

what about you? have you tried them yet?
