I got asked to check out some Eucerin products and chose to explore the benefits and purposes of the DermatoCLEAN tonic and eye makeup remover. I have only heard great things about the Eucerin but have so far never used any of their products. Now lets see what I have found out about the tonic and eye makeup remover.
It claims to gently remove all cleanser traces and lets the skin breathe more easily. Furthermore it has been tested on sensitive skin. This is a big PLUS. So many people have sensitive skin, including me. And therefore it is always great to hear that a product has been tested for exactly this kind of skin type.
The main reason to use a tonic after cleansing ones face is to prepare the skin better for regeneration and the following serums and or creams. The skin feels noticeably clean and soothed and clearly delicate and supple. I have loved their tonic and was surprised to read that it is for all skin types, eventhough it was tested for sensitive skin. Another great thing is that the tonic contains no alcohol. The biggest results and benefits of using a tonic are to let the skin breathe. By daily using a tonic before moisturizing the oxygen uptake improves significantly. And therefore the skin moisture improves too.
In case you have never used a tonic before, here is how you would use it.
Apply to a cotton pad and wipe gently over the face, neck and décolleté to prepare the skin optimally for the absorption of the next active ingredients. In my case I stopped using cotton pads and am using the JEMAKO pads instead. Like this I produce less trash and do something for a better place to live on. I can highly recommend them to you.
I have read that Eucerin has performed scientific tests and conducted controlled application studies with participants between the ages of 18 and 75.
Now here is a list of the ingredients. I love the fact that they are listed on their website and also very nicely described here >>
It claims to remove gently and thoroughly ones eye make-up and water-resistant mascara. Especially with summer ahead, a lot of women are using waterproof mascaras and are in need for a good and gentle remover. A non-greasy, two-phase formula comprising: an upper layer for removing water-proof make-up and a lower layer for removing water-soluble make-up. By shaking it the two phases are getting activated and are ready to be used.
Eyes are the windows to our souls. I love that saying and totally agree. We can see if someone is tired or sad by looking into their eyes. Also one can tell if someone is taking good care of their skin. The eye area has super sensitive skin and it is very important to be very gentle. Like the tonic also the eye makeup remover has been tested on sensitive skin. And aswell it claims to be for all skin types. I was very happy to read that they have conducted controlled application studies with participants aged 18 to 75 who had partially sensitive skin.
I guess its clear to everyone how to use eyemakeup remover, but one never knows. So here we go: Shake well to mix the two phases. Apply to a cotton pad. Gently wipe from the inside outwards over the eye area until no remover is left on the cotton pad.
I hope you have found this blogpost interesting. In case you have a favorite product by Eucerin, please share it with all of us in the comments. Have a lovely day. X

I live in Basel and therefore I am a local who can give you lots of tips about Basel. especially during the Art Basel week we tend to have long days and long nights and then its very nice to treat oneself with something nice. so, when I have a rough day or my feet hurt from being on them all day long I like to get myself a footmassage or a pedicure, depending on my time schedule. I can absolutely recommend Ramona Gysi and her salon RG Cosmetic & Massage.
I had the pleasure to get a foot reflexzone massage the other day and it was such a relaxing experience. by massaging the feet the whole body is affected and therefor it feels like a full body massage.
in case you need a hair cut I can also recommend a very nice salon called WINTER COIFFURE its located behind AESCHENPLATZ at Lange Gasse 28. Stefanie Winter is cutting my hair for a very long time and I blogged about my experiences several times before.
Stefanie Winter has worked in the coiffure industry for years and stands for styling expertise at the highest level. she opened her first salon in Basel at Lange Gasse 28 in Basel. the approximately 80 square-foot facility is located directly behind Aeschenplatz. Stefanie Winter is coiffeuse out of passion and her success is based on the unique feeling for people and style.
as I have already told you before this years VOLTA I am going to focus on Bonnie Maygarden and her works. yesterday it was the Preview Day of VOLTA12 at Markthalle and I got to visit Bonnie Maygarden ‘s gallery where she also had some of her work on display in addition to her sticker works for AESOP in the city center. I had the chance to ask Bonnie some questions and am very happy to share everything with you.
1. What was the idea behind the artwork for AESOP?
“I knew I wanted to create something that is conceptually in line with my current work, but would also work to draw people to the VOLTA Art Fair and the AESOP Store. In early discussions of the project what felt most interesting was creating an installation of paintings on the storefront rather than the typical digitally printed reproductions of artworks. I painted directly onto adhesive vinyl using the same process I use to create my works on canvas and paper.
I am fascinated by the role of painting in the digital age, and the way this project unexpectedly uses paintings to replace something that would usually be created digitally is conceptually consistent with with my current work. The works themselves are also meant to reference digital imagery with the use of bright colors, gradients, floating geometric shapes, trompe l’oeil, and photorealism. Playing with traditional modes of painting in a language that visually references technology allows me to explore what our expectations of contemporary images are in a digital world.”
2. How do you approach your art, meaning where do you get your inspiration from?
“I think, like many painters, that I’m inspired equally by the past and the present, and, like many painters, I am essentially making paintings about painting. I am inspired by movements in art history such as Minimalism, Photorealism, and Op Art, as well as how the visual narrative of painting has generally evolved over time. I am also interested in processes and imagery that feel seamless to our current digitally dependent culture, and I mimic elements of those aesthetics using painting. I look at stock photography, advertisements, graffiti, photoshop filters, and the digital screen as inspiration for my work.”
3. Do you like the AESOP products, and if so which one is your favorite? (my favorite one is their hair and scalp rose masque.)
“I love the Fabulous Face Oil and Parsley Seed Facial Cleansing Oil. A couple of years ago I discovered how amazing oils are as cleansers and moisturizers, these two really are fabulous!”
4. Would you be interested to put your artworks on fabric and combine your art with fashion?
“Absolutely, if the right situation came along. The theme of the trompe l’oeil crumpled surfaces that runs throughout my work is meant to hit on a history of drapery in painting as well as natural phenomena of light and color. A the same time it is also something that people want to somehow interact with. People always want to touch the paintings to understand them. The playfulness of something that is a flat pattern but looks three-dimensional is something I could certainly see being exciting to wear.”
5. Do you have a favorite fashion designer?
“I absolutely love Céline, Stella McCartney, and Alexander Wang. I am always looking to innovation in fashion and design for artistic inspiration. However, I tend to dress much more subdued than my work, lots of black and white- I leave color for paintings!”
yup, today I wanna introduce something with vitamin C – something we all can not have enough of. so what is it? I am talking about the Lubexanti–age® VitaminCConcentrate. a product for amore evenandyounger-looking skin. Oh, when I read that off the packaging I was thinking, why not giving it a try. but first I wanna share all the things that I have found about this product:
+reduces pigment andage spotsand ensuresan even skin tone (cresssproutextract, soy isoflavonesincombination withvitamin Cglucoside)
+acts as a reinforcedantioxidant andprotects the skin fromlight-induced skinaging (vitamin Eincombination withvitamin Cglucoside)
+plumpsthe skinfrom the insideandhydrates intensely (hyaluronic acid fragments[HAF])
all LUBEX anti-age products are
+ without preservatives (air- and light-tight packagewill guarantee durability andgood hygiene) +without dyes +withoutallergenicperfumes
also called provitamin C. vitamin-C-glucosides has an antioxidant against free radicals, reduces pigmentation marks and repaires the stressed skin by UV rays. so vitamin-C-glucosides are very active against skin aging and therfore used by LUBEX anti age serum!
intensively hydrates the epidermis and protects the skin from drying out. in addition, they act like retinol (vitamin A) and pepdtide: that means they improve the structure and density of the skin and make it more elastic.
how to apply
apply to clean skin and avoid the eye area day or night before applying moisturizer/foundation or your night cream. it is suitable for all skin types and can be used as a short time treatment for a month or two or can be used for a longer period but then I personally would not recommend to apply it every day and night. in case you want to use it for a longer period I would suggest to only use it every second or third night and apply the LUBEX anti-age SERUM on the other days/nights.
two brands – one look– and what a simple one! I started to apply the new lightful C tinted cream all over my face and neck and set it with the mineralize skinfinish natural powder. then I applied the bronzing powder to my cheeks, temples and jaw line and filled in my brows with the eyebrow pencil in taupe which I can hardly sharpen anymore as it got so tiny. as a last step I dusted the light CC prep+prime loose powder all over my face to give it a nice and fresh finish!
yes! the time has come – I am getting ready for spring and summer! and this year I have found some nice little helpers for my skin. in summer my skin is more exposed to sunlight and I am wearing nice short dresses and I wanna be sure to have a very nice, soft and even skin without any redness, stretchmarks or dents! so therefore I am drinking a lot of tea and water to get rid off any toxines and waste! that is step one and very crucial for a healthy diet and a fit body! I am a vegetarian since I was a baby and never liked meat so I already eat a lot of veggies. lately I have tried to eat a seasonal diet and I gotta tell you that is NOT easy for a person living in switzerland and craving AVOCADOS – ORANGES and LEMONS : ) so every now and then I had to make an exception and bought some delicious avocados, lemons and oranges. I try to mix vegetables, carbs and proteins. my favorite dish is rice with beans and different vegetables – I could eat that every day! a well-balanced diet is step two to a healthy body! mmhhmm. I think it is time to show you some of my lovely dishes that I am cooking all the time. stay tuned. now back to the healthy lifestyle. drinking enough and eating a well-balanced diet are key to a nice and fit body. the industry is showing us so many different things to stay in shape and one could spend hundreds of franks on different products. and thats why I wanna show you these 3 awesome products that I have found at MIGROS!

VICHY Capital Soleil BB Creme SPF 50
It has a lovely texture and a rather light coverage. I love BB Creams and I love high SPF protection and here I have found the perfect combo. A BB Cream with SPF 50!
KIEHL’S Micro Blur Skin Perfector
Apply this and you are ready to go, this product immediately blurs all my imperfections into oblivion! I have to say I am very much impressed! I use it after my Creme and Foundation and wow I can really see a before/after effect. I hope to be able to catch this on camera and show you.
TOLERIANE ULTRA – this is the most sensitive makeupremover that I have ever tried – wow – slightly impressed about this product! it is a gentle product for very sensitive skin and therefore each dose is filled in a little plastic drop/container – lots of trash but I would still repurchase it as it is just simply perfect for my couperose skin!
HYDRAPHASE INTENSE LEGERE – a very very light but still hydrating skincare for everyday – apply day and night and it is perfect for sensitive to normal skin. I have not used this product yet, so I can not tell you whether I liked it or not. I will try it in the next couple of weeks and will hopefully get back to you about it.

I have been using SHISEIDO ULTIMUNE for the last thee weeks and I really like it.I will continue to use it and will get back to you and will tell you more.

as I am already a fan of the masque creme a la rose noire by sisley I was very excited to see that the soon to be launched product was also containing black rose. I am very happy to be able to test this product before it is available in the stores and I have been using it for the last couple of weeks and I really really love it! I use this precious face oil every other day and night and I think I will even love it more in winter when my skin is dryer. It can be used alone or under the moisturizer day and/or night.
so what makes it so special?
Omega 3 fatty acids, plum oil, camelina oil, phyto squalane from olive oil, funnel alge, vitamine E, avocado extract, black bulgarian rose, magnolia
all these things help to calm, repair and maintain our skin.
