MY PHONE (HI)STORY

my phone historythese are my recently used phones, from left to right:
SAMSUNG galaxy alpha / SONY Z3 Xperia / WIKO Highway Pure 4G

what is important for me?
a phone with a long lasting battery is exactly what I need, as I use my phone for work the moment I wake up until the moment I go to bed. not kidding : ) and then I also need a phone that takes awesome photos. these are the two most important things for me: camera and battery. lets see which phone made me the happiest.

my phone history

let me start with the phone that I have used first, the SAMSUNG galaxy alpha. what I love about this phone was my customized case by swiss fashion designer JULIAN ZIGERLI, you can see all the photos and blogposts here >> >> I got this phone at an event in september 2014 and have rarely used it until I have received the SONY Z3 Xperia phone in november. but when my SONY pone broke I went back and used this SAMSUNG phone, until I got the new WIKO phone. a bit complicated but I hope you were able to follow along.

+ lovely case by JULIAN ZIGERLI
+ very light phone 115 g
+ easy to use (Android)
+ 4K (3840 x 2160) video recording

– weak camera 12MP / 2.1 MP : (
– weak battery ~ 6 hours max

so in November 2014 I have received the SONY Z3 Xperia phone in the lovely mint color that reminds me so much of Tiffany & Co. I have used this phone with pleasure from January until it broke : ( in May 2015. here you can see more >>  and  >> and  >>

+ lovely mint color
+ easy to use (Android)
+ awsome battery – ~ 24 hours +
+ best back camera ever 20.7 MP / ISO 12800
+ waterproof IP 65/68
+ so many photo options
– never had so much fun with my phone before.

– average front camera 2.2 MP
– it broke after 5 months : ( – now I am waiting for it to be repaired.

my phone history

my newest phone is by WIKO, a french phone and therefore my first european phone ever. I got the WIKO HIGHWAY PURE 4G in black with a black case. I have been using this phone for a bit more than 3 weeks now and besides the camera and battery issues it is a great phone, I can really feel that it is faster than any phone I have had before. : )

+ very very light 98 g
+ thinnest smartphone on the market 5.1 mm
+ easy to use (Android)
+ best front camera 5MP that I have ever used

– average back camera 8MP
– weak battery ~ 7 hours
– very little options for photos

so at the moment I am using the WIKO phone and will keep it as a back up as soon as my SONY phone is repaired.

AQUAZINGER – MY NEW BEST FRIEND!

aquazinger

AQUAZINGER – this thing rocks! thank you Catherine for this awesome present. such a nice and easy way to jazz up simple water and infuse it with fruits. my favorite is lemon + mint or mint + raspberries – mmhhmm! the best thing is that this also works with warm beverages – ooh I am already looking forward to make my own CHAI TEA with this bugger. stay tuned.

aquazinger

how does it work?

1. cut tiny pieces of fruit
2. close the lid 3. twist the metal part to the part with the cut fruits and the lid
4. fill it with water, shake it and cool it.
5. ready to drink ; )

more ideas for infused water

watermelon + basil water
kiwi + lime water
raspberry + blackberry water

aquazinger

I wish you all a nice day and I hope you have found this post helpful. this might be the best present for the friend that already has everything. : ) I dunno where she got it from but it is all over the internet. just google AQUAZINGER or visit zinganything.com/recipe for more ideas and recipes.

SHARING IS CARING

thereisalwaysanopendoor

“THERE IS ALWAYS AN OPEN DOOR” – there is always a way – might not be easy and simple but in the end there will be a solution!

today I wanna share with you my tips and tricks on how I keep the world informed about I SAW SOMETHING NICE. some things might be very simple and some need a bit more research but I am sure it will be totally worth it.

#BUSINESSCARDS
always carry businesscards with you because you never know who you are going to meet and it always gives a nice impression when you have your own cards.  use the same design for your cards as you use for your website this is called CD aka corporate design and is part of the CI aka corporate identity. in my case I buy blank white cards and I use a stamp with the same font that I use on the blog to make my cards.

#SOCIAL MEDIA
let your friends and followers know what you do and share your links and photos with them via all the different channels and platforms there are. if you only share words, hashtags and links then twitter might be your thing, in case it is more about images, texts and links then facebook should be your thing and when its mainly about images and hashtags then instagram is your thing. I mainly use facebook but also share my fotos via instagram and share my links via twitter. there are certain times when your audience is online and offline and it is key to find that out and post according to their schedule.

#AUDIENCE
it is very important to know your people. who reads your content, what age, what gender? do you know these things? there are many ways to find out. I use google analytics and I find it very easy. once you know your followers and readers you can also find out more about their behaviour and lifestyle. are these people a lot in front of the computer or are they mainly using the smartphone because they are students or younger folks? to know such things are key to a successful and widespread content.

#ASK QUESTIONS
what do you read in the internet? do you read blogs or feeds or are you subscribed to newsletters? do you like to watch videos, if so do you like to watch tutorials or vlogs? the best question for great content is: WOULD I LIKE TO READ OR WATCH IT? if so go ahead and do it, I am sure you will be successful due to your authenticity and passion.

#SHARING IS CARING
BUT you have to give credits – this is crucial! when you take a photo that you didnt take yourself it is always best to ask before. in case they dont answer or you can not contact them then anyway always put the correct credits, such as link, author etc.

I hope that was helpful, I will try to post more of these tips and tricks in the future. stay tuned. X

HOME SWEET HOME

IMG_5959

ouff, it is monday night – two days after my birthday and I am processing all the joy and love from my party. it was an epic night – one to remember and keep close to the heart. again thank you to all my lovely friends for making it happen. thanks for all the gorgeous flowers and thanks for the delicious chocolate and olive oil. I got so many cool things, some of them are worth to blog about because I have never seen such things. stay tuned for more info.

isawsomethingnicecollage

now back to the HOME SWEET HOME topic, because today I wanna show you the small transformation of our guest room. we are not completely done – it will be a step by step change. so far I have flipped the black DRÖNA boxes by IKEA that are actually ment to be put in the IKEA shelf with the squares, I forgot the name of it and I used the black big binder paper clips to stack and secure them.

homesweethome

once you have built your desired shelf with the boxes and clips it is time to decorate the top.I am a big fan of WOHNREVUE and a stack of magazines always looks good. next to the magazines I put the new HOMMAGE d’ipuro ST ANTOINE candle and the ipuro season line diffuser in WHITE ORCHID. mhhmm, they are both super nice and together even better – scents are such a personal thing and
everyone has a different approach so just visit the next shop like DEPOT or MANOR and see for yourself which scents you like. next to the candle and diffuser I put the two MOLESKINE books one for travel and one for fashion. our future plan is to build two shelfes for all our electronic devices, office and creative stuff like folders, paint and other materials. I will soon show you the other side of the room with the new couch, that can be extended to a bed. we just had guests from poland and they said they liked to sleep on it. above the couch there is the world map with the pins – something that I have already shared with you – read more here >>

MY BIKE ACCIDENT AND CONCLUSION

I was so so lucky on wednesday night when I fell with my bike and hit my knee,
elbow and head. I was not wearing a helmet and that is going to change now.
I checked the web for the best helmets and I found this very interesting statistic via ADAC and I found it very helpful. SAFE does not mean EXPENSIVE – that was the first thing that I noticed. I was quiet surprised about the prices of the helmets. below you can see the best helmets and the best one is the second cheapest.. so we have an overview of the prices and safety but we have not solved the STYLE issue…
helmets are not nice looking and are not stylish at all.. thats what I thought.. Screen shot 2015-05-21 at 10.57.04

and then I started an online search and I checked some of the brands from the ADAC test and was looking for a non sporty looking helmet.. the first brand that I checked was GIRO and I found a quiet simple looking helmet called QUARTER that is available in many colors. made out of ABS shell it is one of the lightest helmets ever made. they have different sizes and that brings me to another question that I had to answer, how to measure ones head for the correct helmet size. because it
really needs to fit. so check the photo below in case you need to measure your head to find a helmet. below the chart you can find the white QUARTER helmet.

Giro_H_Quarter_MatteWhiteCABear_34_1Screen shot 2015-05-21 at 11.05.18

another brand from the list was SCOTT and there I have found a funny round
looking one that does not scream GIRO D’ITALIA : ) the model is called TORUS and is available in different sizes: S, M, and L. this model that I am showing you is
nothing for big heads. check the size chart.

scott_zoom_52014_Hardgoods_BIKE.indb

CASCO is another brand from the test and they have a helmet called URBANIC TC available in S = 50-56 cm / M = 56-69 cm / L = 59-63 cm / 80 EUROurbanicblack_cascohelme_5331427_m1257

the last helmet I want to show you is a more fancy one by YAKKAY called PARIS and I have not really found valid statistics about the safety. the helmet is made out of oiled fabric and looks like a hat. the cool thing is that you can change the cover of the hat and buy different covers. I only found size MEDIUM = 55 – 57 cm  89 EURO yakkay_weltrad_076_paris_blackoilskin

and during my research I was finding some local sellers of bike helmets and I called TRANSA and spoke to the lovely Rahel who recomended two other nice helmets.

BELL INTERSECT    bell_interselect.com

BERN BRENDWOODbern_brendwood

so now I know how to measure my head – which is btw 55 cm – and my two favorites are the GIRO QUARTER and the FAKKAY PARIS. somehow I feel like I need to try the helmet first before buying it and thats why I will check some shops for these two models. I will keep you posted about my helmet search via my SOCIAL MEDIA channels. stay tuned and ride safely! X

SIMONE’S HAPPY HEMPSEED SPLODGES

IMG_7059

nomnom.. today I did something really nice: I baked with my dear friend Simone and I just had to share her delicious recipe with you. as I am a vegetarian I often ask myself if I get enough proteins thru my daily food. Simone is a chef and she knows a lot about food and nutrition and she told me that by eating a couple of those delicious HEMPSEED SPLUDGES I make sure to cover my daily protein dose. a couple of days ago she brought me a jar of her yummie home made spludges and thats when I knew that I wanna find out about how to make those myself, and of course I had to include all of you because sharing is caring, right?

IMG_6895

shoppinglist

250 g OATMEAL
40 g FLAX SEED
40 g SUNFLOWER SEED
40 g HEMPSEED (peeled)
40 g APRICOT (dried)
3 Tablespoon HONEY
3 egg white

IMG_6949

step one: MIX the oatmeal, the seeds and the apricots in a big bowl. step two: ADD the egg white and honey. step three: HEAT the oven 120 °C (convection oven) step four: SCOOP tiny splodges to a baking paper on a baking tray. step five: WAIT 25 minutes and let them cool before you touch them – otherwise they might break..

IMG_6952

that was a very easy recipe, right? I am eating one of the spludges right now and it is just delicious. mmmhhmmm.. NOTE in case you want to make a vegan version then you can use vegan egg white  instead of the egg white and use stevia instead of the honey. for more protein power you can exchange one of the seeds with roasted soy beans and for more crunchiness you can add some chopped walnuts. enjoy baking and have a lovely weekend! WHAT HAPPENED IN PARIS?

DSC_0156

I am back from my tiny press trip to PARIS and I have a lot to share with you. these two days were packed with lots of nice things. thank you C&A for inviting me – it was a blast and I met so many interesting fashion people. this morning I made a tiny video where I was rambling about what I have been doing in PARIS – it will be up via YOUTUBE and can be seen here on my blog via the SOCIAL MEDIA category.

20150504_091534

MONDAY 4.5.2015
3 hour train ride from BASEL to PARIS with the TGV – arrived at GARE DE LYON and took a cab to the HOTEL MAMA SHELTER. there I found my MY WEBSPOT pocket WI-FI at the reception and it was super easy to get it started, I just had to press ON and enter the code that was on the back of the pocket WI-FI. ZACK! I was connected to the INTERNET WORLD. thank you so much for letting me use your services while I was in PARIS.

DSC_0135

then I took the metro and went to the stop ALÉSIA where the SONIA RYKIEL outlet shop was and indeed I found something nice there! I will go a bit more into detail about the fashion part in another blogpost. now I wanna continue with the schedule, so after the shopping I met up with all the other bloggers and journalistes from all around europe and we drove with shuttle buses from the hotel to the LE PERCHOIR bar.

20150504_181311

such a pitty that it was raining that very evening when we were at the LE PERCHOIR bar as the rooftop bar is just absolutely stunning with a view all over PARIS.

20150504_181732

after the drinks at the bar we drove back to the HOTEL where we all had a dinner together. well, I dont really wanna talk about the dinner as there wouldnt be much nice to say and I guess by saying that I have just told you everything you need to know. 🙂 after dinner everyone was tired and went to bed. I went for some drinks and returned at about 1:30 am.

TUESDAY 5.5.2015

at 10 AM we were all ready and waited for the buses to bring us to the C&A showroom. there we were welcomed with tea, coffee and croissants.

IMG_6721

and the decoration of the showroom was very very nice. the place is actually a gallery and therefore there was lots of light and white walls and floors.

IMG_6718

I will show you a bit about the location. I quickly spoke to the DJane and I really liked her performance. the whole location was filled with bloggers and journalistes, editors, designers and C&A staff. I took many photos of the collection and will show you soon.

IMG_6685

IMG_6722

alright, now I will start editing the video for YOUTUBE and will start selecting the photos for the FASHION post. I hope you liked the photos that I took and stay tuned for more. X

DIY MOMENT

so let me start with the amazing news first: I am going to Paris on Monday early in the morning and will stay until tuesday night. for that very occasion I was shopping for a nice dress. Indeed I found one and also bought it but I absolutely didnt like the buttons. I knew I had to change them and was not so sure what kind of buttons to get. I have a huge collections of single buttons that I collect from dresses and blouses but somehow I didnt want to put different buttons on that white lace blouse dress. and then I found the right pair. here you can see the new and the old buttons, what do you think? isnt it a super nice upgrade for the dress?

image

I will soon tell you more details about my trip to Paris and hope to share many nice photos with you. so I was thinking what to pack for a two day trip to Paris? I decided to travel with the black jumpsuit and my chunky sandals and to wear the white lace dress with the wooden sandals for the event. also I wanna bring my brown and my black sunglasses and also the beige DKNY bag will work for both outfits. thats what I think now but lets see how it will turn out in the end 🙂 packing is not my most favorite thing to do as I always have the tendency to bring too much. thats why I am very pround of my very basic packing approach!

image

I also have some amazing new red/brown pants that I could wear for the way back but I am not sure with what to wear them. lets see, more infos coming soon. X

my phone is the BEST – not kidding!

my phone is the BEST – not kidding 🙂
a couple of months ago I ditched my iphone and started using this awesome new SONY smartphone – more info about it here << and ever since I have started to use the new phone to capture event pictures I was able to leave my big heavy CANON EOS camera at home. this morning I was playing with the camera and took these lovely photos.

so let me quickly tell you the PRO’s of this new phone: 1. the battery lasts for almost 2 DAYS – thats a big or lets say HUGE bonus compared to my iphone. 2. waterproof – the case is waterproof and can be taken for a swim – before doing that read the instructions that come with the phone. 3. I can upload all my things to my phone _ I have almost toal freedom about my files and music – I can mirror my desktop computer on my phone and work from the go! 4. the brain of the phone is super quick and lets me work in a neat speed. 5. the camera – it has 20.7 MP camera and the option to record 4K movies – there is a time lapse option and many other fancy adjustments for the camera. 6. the color range of the phones – I am so happy with my TIFFANY & CO green phone!

my phone is the BEST - not kidding!

the only CON that I could name is that I had to redownload all the apps and some of them didnt have an android version so I had to search for a dupe. other than that I am very pleased with my new phone!

what phone are you using? do you like the iphone 6? let me know. X

SOMETHING NEW via @Coca-Cola

check your super market and experience the new coca cola life 🙂 I don’t like coca cola but my friends do and they really liked it and were not able to tell the difference between this one and regular coke – well it should actually taste less sweet. 🙂
