My dears, I am pregnant, just in case you did not know. 27 weeks in already. Time is flying.. Today I wanna share with you my 10 PREGNANCY MUST HAVES. PREGNANCY MUST HAVES #1
WELEDA – almond sensitive lotion

Did you get a chance to smell this product? awww, it smells so good. I am a huge fan of the Weleda almond beauty line. No surprise that I love using their body lotions too. I got this from my friend Jessy for my birthday. Thank you dear. So nice of you! I use this lotion whenever I am not using any of my other oils. Preferably in the morning when I am a bit in a hurry, since this lotion is being absorbed way faster than my oils. (code check rating: all green = no concerns identified)

PREGNANCY MUST HAVES #2
THERME EDUARD VOGT – mint cooling spray for feet and legs

It is a hot summer this year and being pregnant, aka being bigger and heavier does not help at all. I suffer from hot and swollen feet and legs and this product gives me an instant relief. Perfect for on the go. It can be also used over stockings, compression hosiery. (code check rating: 3/4 green 1 high concern, 1 significant concern, 5 low concern, 8 no concern identified)

PREGNANCY MUST HAVES #3
BI-OIL – purCellin oil

This bugger is another present I got from a dear friend. She swears by this product and has used it thru out her pregnancy and does not have any scars or stretch marks. A good reason to give this oil a try. I use it whenever I am not using my other oils. Honestly, all of the oils feel great and leave my skin moisturized. In the end I believe its all about that you are using oils or lotions every day and night. And for sure its also slightly genetic how your skin is going to react to pregnancy. PREGNANCY MUST HAVES #4
SIMILASAN – inca inchi body oil

I started off with that oil, simply because it was one that I have already had. Similasan have great products and I am a big fan of their globulis. More infos >> here This oil has a quiet distinct sweet smell and leaves the skin nicely nourished and soft. (code check rating: all green = no concerns identified)

PREGNANCY MUST HAVES #5
CLARINS – bust beauty extra lift gel

The boobs, oh dear, they have trippled in size and get bigger every day. Or at least that’s how I feel 🙂 In order to keep them in shape I am using this gel on a daily base. I love the firming feeling. Before that I was using the Sensai by Kanebo throat and bust lifting effect cream. An awesome product, maybe even a tick better than the Clarins Gel, BUT that cream is just way too expensive. I am not willing to spend 130 CHF on a bust cream that lasts me for about 2-3 months. I got the Clarins Gel at Manor when they had an extra 20% discount and ended up paying around 55 CHF which is still not cheap but way less than the other cream. (no code check rating!)

PREGNANCY MUST HAVES #6
BURTS BEES MAMA BEE – leg and foot cream

Another awesome product that I got as a present for my birthday from a dear friend. Thank you so much Miriam 🙂 I use this cream regularly on my feet before going to bed. An instantly cooling cream with a lovely peppermint scent. (code check rating: 1 high concern, 23 no concern identified)

PREGNANCY MUST HAVES #7
WELEDA – pregnancy body oil

I love me some oils and can not believe how nice and thoughtful my friends are 🙂 I got this oil from my friend Salome. Thank you so much again! Weleda has so many great products. Like the almond lotion I am also a huge fan of the pregnancy oil. Its not the fastest absorbing oil but great for when you have a bit more time. I use this oil before going to bed, not only on my bump but all over my body. I gotta say that out of all my oils I like this one the best. PREGNANCY MUST HAVES #8
MÜLLER – jojoba oil

I heard so many women saying that jojoba oil is one of the best oils to use during pregnancy. Just like the one by Similasan I happened to have this oil already and really loved using it. I have actually used this whole buttle up and since I got so many nice oils and creams for my birthday I did not feel the need to repurchase it. Nevertheless this is an awesome oil. Very natural, containing only jojoba oil. Unfortunately there is no code check rating for this oil. But basically it is just pure jojoba oil, so I assume that there are no concerns to identify.

PREGNANCY MUST HAVES #9
WELEDA – Venadoron gel for heavy and tired legs

This one is doing such a great job. I use it every night, all over my legs in a very light upwards motion. I really am trying to prevent varicose and therefore I am also wearing compression hosieries. I got a pair in black and a pair in beige, both of them stay ups. I can really feel a difference on the days where I am wearing them and therefore I almost wear them every day. Especially on these very hot days. So every night when I take them off I use this Venadoron gel all over my legs and keep my legs up the wall for at least 15 minutes. I can highly recommend doing that when you suffer from heavy and tired legs during pregnancy. (code check rating: 2 low concern, 10 no concern identified)

PREGNANCY MUST HAVES #10
CLARINS – stretch mark minimizer

And last but not least I wanna introduce a cream to you. Hence the name it is against stretch marks. BUT it can also be used to prevent stretch marks. I already have some stretch marks from growing on the outside of my thighs and in fact the cream reduces the appearance of them. I have had this happen with a product by VICHY before. The thing is once you stop the stretch marks reappeared. 🙂 Nevertheless, this is a good way to moisture your bump and for sure something that absorbs a bit faster than an oil. Another really nice thing about Clarins is that they give out a really cute book about staying beautiful during pregnancy. There they share very helpful tips on how to massage the baby bump and some simple exercises to stay healthy. (code check rating: 6 significant concern, 7 low concern, 16 no concern identified)

These were my “10 Pregnany Must Haves” and I hope this post was helpful in case you are looking for creams or oils to use during pregnancy. It is crazy how fast time flew by and that I am already in my last trimester. The first three months I was dealing with serious skin issues on my back and face but luckily never had nausea. I am dealing with severe weight gain 🙂 but I hope that once our baby is born my weight will get back to normal. We will see. Until then I have to put up with my maternity clothes and a few summer dresses that still fit me. I have found some really nice pieces via zalando. Just in case you are looking for some stylish maternity clothes.

Another thing that really helps me is to go to YOGA regularly. In the beginning I went up to 4 times a week and now with the heat I go twice a week. Moving the body is a great way to prepare for labour. But let me tell you, I can really feel that I am carrying some extra weight with me. KMS California came out with something new and it took me quiet a while to finally write about it, so for me they are new but actually they are already out for a while. frizzy hair? I guess a lot of ladies can answer this with a simple YES. so I am sure that you will be happy to hear more about these new buggers:

TAME FRIZZ and HAIR STAY

thats the name of the line and I got to try the de frizz oil, the shampoo and the HAIR STAY maximum hold spray. my hair can be frizzy, especially when it rains a lot and the air is humid. also when I leave my hair air dry my roots can get really frizzy, so when I got the parcel I was very excited and had high expectations. now lets see what they say they do:

de-frizz oil / 100ml
it claims to control frizz and humidity for up to 3 days.
its a lightweight feel, non-greasy oil that instantly is being absorbed instantly. it is humidity resistance and provides heat protection. it is very easy to use, just work through towel-dried hair and style as usual. you can also use it on dry hair to further reduce frizz. this is another great hair oil. as you may know I have already tried lots of different oils (KERASTASE, REDKEN, THE BODY SHOP etc..) and it has become a regimen for me to always apply some drops of oil to my damp hair before blow drying it.

tame frizz shampoo / 300ml
it claims to prepare for frizz reduction and smoothes the hair surface. lather,
rinse. repeat if necessary. mmhhmm, it smells devine. so far I really see a difference when washing my hair with this shampoo. my hair roots are not frizzy and I dont have to add a ton of cream or oil to control the frizz. thumbs up for this bugger!

maximum hold spray / 245 g
it claims to give a firm hold and to be humidity resistant. it has an instant ultra-firm finishing and shine effect up to 24-hour. how to use, like every other hair spray, keep a distance of 25-30 cm from dry hair.

these are some of the new beauty products for men and I am very happy with the new DAVIDOFF fragrance, a spicy herbal fresh scent, nothing like Coolwater a lot more sophisticated I find. but as you may already know I find it very hard to describe scents for others and think its always best to see for oneself. DRY SHAMPOO

dry shampoo had a real revival during the last couple of years, I remember when I was a teenager I only saw my grandma using these kind of products. but now the market is flooded with dry shampoos – for different hair colors and with different scents.

lets start with the BATISTE brand – they are very well known for their dry shampoos because thats what they do. I am super happy that one can now buy them in switzerland too. before I had to buy them in france. there are different scents, like TROPICAL or BLUSH but my true favorite is the one for dark hair. eventhough I have colored my hair lighter at the ends my roots are still dark and therefore I love using a dry shampoo that matches my hair color.

another nice dry shampoo is by REDKEN and it is called PILLOW PROOF. what a funny name. also this bugger works for me and I really like the scent of it. unfortunately the powder is light, so it takes me some time to blend it in. but after a couple of strokes with my brush it looks neat and fresh.

do you wonder how dry shampoos work and why I use them?

back in the days I was washing my hair almost every or every second day. about two or three years ago I started washing my hair only twice a week and I saw a huge difference in my hair. washing your hair too often is not good for your hair and if you have colored hair it will fade a lot faster. so of course you can not just switch from washing your hair every day to washing it only once or twice a week. these things take some time. your scalp needs time to adapt. during that process dry shampoo comes in handy as you can spray it to your roots when you would have actually needed to wash your hair. in my case my scalp started looking less greasy and now my hair is absolutely used to only being washed twice a week. the dry shampoo absorbs the grease from your scalp, mmhhm sounds lovely, but its effective and easy to do. spray it to your roots and use a brush to blend in the powder. its super easy, you will see.

last week I was in Zuerich for the MIGROS I am PROFESSIONAL blogger event and I had a great time. Now I can show you some *photos of the event and wanna share some thoughts about the I am PROFESSIONAL blogger event and my favorite product with you.

BLOGGER EVENTS – some tips from my side!

In general I wanna say something, thank you very much for inviting me to all these awesome events BUT not all swiss bloggers are living in ZUERICH, where almost all of the events are taking place. so in case you invite a blogger to your event, make sure that you cover their train tickets. why should a blogger attend your event paying for it by himself and then in the end write about the event and product for a goodie bag or for the products itself? for a person without 1/2 tax a train ride from BS to ZH including the local tram tickets is around 80 CHF.

A HUGE NOOOOOOOO !!

these expenses should be calculated in the budget and it should be normal for the PR companies to inform the bloggers about that. since one year I am only attending events in ZH when the organizer covers my travel expenses. If not I am not coming to ZH as simple as that.

again I am very grateful and happy to be invited so don’t get me wrong. its just after a year of attending events in ZH for my blog I ended up spending 1500 CHF only on tickets and that was a year when I was not attending so many events, I think there were about 18 events or so. but still I ended up paying for my blogposts – do you know what I mean?

another thing that I have noticed at the last couple of events. bloggers dont want the food that you would serve at a farmers union, so please check if there are enough vegetarian or even vegan alternatives. the biggest NOOOOOOO of the I am PROFESSIONAL event was the food. IT WAS REALLY REALLY BAD, as the first 4 rounds of food where chicken, ham, cheese, and meatballs. SERIOUSLY ??? ever heard of vegetarian or vegan lifestyle? I could go bananas on this topic as I feel like a lot of people that organize those events have no idea for whom they are preparing the event. so PLEASE make sure to have meals without cheese and without meat. the sad thing about the I am PROFESSIONAL event was that there was sooo much meat left that nobody wanted, a real pitty if you think that animals had to die for that.. so in that case less is really more : )

I will start to write a blogger manual as I have so many things to complain about. something very uncommon here on isawsomethingnice where I try to only focus on positive things. but I am sure there are many bloggers out there that share the same thoughts.

STYLING

alright, enough said about the food and ticket situation. now lets move on the the styling part that was really cool. I happened to have a very nice stylist and she created some natural looking curls and braided the front to the back. thank you very much, it was really nice to be pampered.

and here finally some vegetarian food arrived, delicious falafel balls but unfortunately they only made like a handful of them and sadly they were gone within seconds. the other alternative they pulled out was a vegetarian quiche, mmhhmm it was delightful but again same issue here, the amount of vegetarian food was just not enough!!

and here you can see the final result of my hair styling by I am PROFESSIONAL. my favorite product is the SMOOTH AND GLOSSY hairspray that really helped to hold my curls. unfortunately there was a massive pour down on the way to the train station and I lost half of the volume of my curls but still it looked nice. check the photos on twitter to see more >>

so in october 2014 I have told you about the new DOVE hair lines and didnt really describe the products and now I wanna share with you my experiences after using it for a couple of times AND I didnt do this alone – I had help! my gorgeous mom tested the purple YOUTH VITALITY line. first I wanna share with you what DOVE says about the two lines and then I will tell you what we liked about it.

OXYGEN

me: I really liked the OXYGEN line – the shampoo lathers and thats something very important for me 🙂 I hate it when shampoos dont lather. I always use conditioner after washing my hair and I gotta say that I liked the conditioner even better than the shampoo. another very nice thing is the mask which really made a difference to my hair – it made it shinier and healthier looking. the only thing I didnt like was the styling product. I think I will hand this down to a friend that likes to use these kind of styling sprays.

YOUTHFUL

I asked her if she has a favorite and she told me that she absolutely loves the HAIR BB CREAM.

this is the one product she will for sure continue to re-purchase.

I have only tried the new nivea products twice and I really like the mega strong styling spray. my new swatch watch and the wonderful earrings by lara patrizia vogt that I have already showed you are really precious pieces to me. the new bb highlighter by estee lauder is fantastic it makes my eye area glow and it goes perfectly with the estee lauder double wear foundation. the last couple of days I couldnt take my hands off the extra dimension blush from the limited alluring aquatic edition its just absolutely gorgeous. and last but not least my new body lotion by kiehls it is silicone free and smells like something super nice but really hard to describe – I love it!
