SIMPLE BODY SCRUB DIY

Today I wanna share a very simple body scrub DIY with all of you. Something that is done super easy and can be changed in many ways. Now lets see what you need inorder to make these body scrubs. I made two different scrubs, one with coffee and one with lemons and oranges.

things you need

coffee
salt
sea salt
coconut oil
lemons
oranges
grater
mason jars

step one:

In this DIY I show you how I made the coffee body scrub. Take some coffee grounds and mix it with 2 tabelspoons of coconut oil. In case your coffee grounds is still warm then you dont have to heat the coconut oil, if not I would suggest to heat it up a bit.

step two:

Add three tablespoons of normal table salt and six tablespoon of sea salt. Mix everything. And that was it. Super easy and simple. It only takes three steps and it is a great way to recycle coffee grounds.

How to make the orange and lemon body scrub:

For the lemon and orange body scrub you start with the normal and sea salt. Then you grate the peel of a lemon and orange. Squeeze the juice of the lemon and orange and mix it with the salt. Then add the coconut oil and mix everything. Again, thats all I did for this second scrub.

I use the scrubs two to three times a week after washing my body. The most amazing thing about these scrubs is, that you dont have to use any body lotion. The coconut oil totally does that job. The scrubs leave your skin super soft and especially in winter our skin can need some extra pampering.

I made these scrubs so many times and I love how simple it is. There are many ways to change them. Instead of coconut oil one could add massage oils or any other scented oils. Or you could add some fresh vanilla to the coffee scrub in order to make it a tad sweeter. The best parts about these scrubs are that you dont end up with any plastic trash and you save lots of money. Coconut oil, salt, lemons and oranges are quiet affordable and easy to find. I started to use this product eleven days ago. how to apply you ask? well, its super easy, the product has a lovely dropping glass and I use about 3 drops for my face, neck and décolleté. so lets get started, I wash my face and keep my skin damp then I warm the drops in my palms and apply the warm oil with very light pressure. it depends on how dry your skin is as this product can be worn alone or under your daily/nightly skin care. I used the oil only at night and for me the oil was enough and I didnt had the urge to apply any other cream. I can directly compare the oil with my beloved Kiehl’s midnight recovery concentrate that I love so so much and I gotta tell you that I am also very very happy with the Lubex anti-age hydration oil. they both smell very nice and bring me into a SPA mood, seriously, I can really relax by smelling certain things. anyway, the Lubex anti-age hydration oil has a very subtle floral scent and the oil is being absorbed very fast by the skin. thats why it can also be used for day and night, as it wont leave a greasy mess on our faces – yay! my skin loves oils as not only my face but my whole body deals with sensitive dry skin. yay – I got to try these beauty buggers by MIGROS – two I AM products and a BELHERBAL one. I looove the shampoo its my favorite product out of these 3. it has the aha! stamp and is made for very sensitive hair and scalp. the I AM bodyoil is great for very dry skin. I used it on my elbows and feet before going to bed. the last but not least product is the I AM relax oase body lotion. for me this is a tip too fruity but it has a very nice consistency and is being absorbed super fast.

TRYING OUT SOMETHING NEW

my friend Amanda, who works at the KIEHLS booth inside MANOR Basel was so nice to set me up with some samples to try. She recommended the KIEHLS SUNFLOWER shampoo and conditioner together with the MAGIC ELIXIR for my dry scalp and colored hair.

so what did I do?
last night before going to bed, I massaged the MAGIC ELIXIR oil into my scalp and gently moved the oil from the roots to the ends. I wrapped a towel around my head and went to bed. This morning my hair looked sooo greasy but it smelled very very good. So I used the SUNFLOWER shampoo and conditioner to wash out the oil. And the result is stunning. My scalp is not dry anymore, no dandruff and my colored hair shines super bright!

would I buy these products?
I would definitely buy the MAGIC ELIXIR OIL and the SUNFLOWER CONDITIONER. The Shampoo I didnt like so much as it leaves a funny feeling on the hair and this only goes away once you have applied conditioner. I feel like the shampoo dries out my hair and I dont like that.

the new AESOP hair treatment!

I have been using it for the last couple of weeks and I gotta say it is really an amazing oil. 2-3 drops are enough for mid length hair. I use it as an everyday conditioner in the midlenght or as a mask applying it from the roots to the ends. The smell of it might not be everyones cup of tea.. but for the folks who know AESOP they will like the smell for sure! It makes my hair shinier and brighter. Especially for dyed hair it shows great effects and makes the color shine like a diamond!
