SIMPLE BODY SCRUB DIY

SIMPLE BODY SCRUB DIY

SIMPLE BODY SCRUB DIY

Today I wanna share a very simple body scrub DIY with all of you. Something that is done super easy and can be changed in many ways. Now lets see what you need inorder to make these body scrubs. I made two different scrubs, one with coffee and one with lemons and oranges.
things you need
coffee
salt
sea salt
coconut oil
lemons
oranges
grater
mason jars

SIMPLE BODY SCRUB DIY

step one:
In this DIY I show you how I made the coffee body scrub. Take some coffee grounds and mix it with 2 tabelspoons of coconut oil. In case your coffee grounds is still warm then you dont have to heat the coconut oil, if not I would suggest to heat it up a bit.

step two:
Add three tablespoons of normal table salt and six tablespoon of sea salt. Mix everything. And that was it. Super easy and simple. It only takes three steps and it is a great way to recycle coffee grounds.
How to make the orange and lemon body scrub:
For the lemon and orange body scrub you start with the normal and sea salt. Then you grate the peel of a lemon and orange. Squeeze the juice of the lemon and orange and mix it with the salt. Then add the coconut oil and mix everything. Again, thats all I did for this second scrub.
SIMPLE BODY SCRUB DIY
I use the scrubs two to three times a week after washing my body. The most amazing thing about these scrubs is, that you dont have to use any body lotion. The coconut oil totally does that job. The scrubs leave your skin super soft and especially in winter our skin can need some extra pampering.
I made these scrubs so many times and I love how simple it is. There are many ways to change them. Instead of coconut oil one could add massage oils or any other scented oils. Or you could add some fresh vanilla to the coffee scrub in order to make it a tad sweeter. The best parts about these scrubs are that you dont end up with any plastic trash and you save lots of money. Coconut oil, salt, lemons and oranges are quiet affordable and easy to find. So I would love to hear from you. Did you make any scrubs? If so, what did you use?

QUICK BEAUTIFUL treatment

quick beautiful - schminkbar basel

today I was at SCHMINKBAR BASEL and I had the chance to try one of their awesome facial treatments. for me and all the busy ladies in Basel I tried the quick beautiful facial treatment. it takes about 45 minutes and costs 100 CHF and I can highly recommend to schedule an appointment with Valentina, she did an amazing job and I will def go back to get that treatment.
now lets see what kind of products she has used for my skin. as some of you may know I have very sensitive skin with couperose parts on my cheeks, this means that my skin is very thin and needs extra care and sun protection. before you start your facial treatment they will anyway ask you about your skin and skin care. in my case I told Valentina about my problems and when she had a closer look under the lamp she could only confirm that. and now the products:
ROBERT & JOSIANE
cleansing
DIE SANFTE face soap
peeling
FRÜHLINGSWUNDER gentle face peeling
tonic
MORGENTAU refreshing tonic
ampule
SCHÖNE AUSSICHTEN face serum
day cream
TAG- + NACHTGLEICHE facial cream
massage
BLÜTENBLÄTTER beauty oil
eau de cologne
OH MERVEILLE!
ROSSELET
mask
CAMPHER mask
BELLETRICE
eye care
EYE LIFT cream

quick beautiful - schminkbar basel

last time when I was at schminkbar in Basel i took a lovely video and since it was a bit of an odd angle for me to film the facial treatment I decided not to make a movie but wright a blogpost about it.

the quick beautiful treatment was very very relaxing. Valentina did not talk too much but explained the most important things which was highly appreciated by me. she took a close look at my skin with the lamp and decided which products will suit my skins needs. I was already a fan of ROBERT & JOSIANE’s products and was very happy when I heard that she will be using lots of products by them. (see list of products above)
she started with cleaning my entire face and neck with help of steam, followed by a very gentle peeling (she has left out my sensitive cheek area) and prepared my skin for the actual treatment: mask and serum. as I have already said, I am def going back to get exactly that treatment. its quick, relaxing and efficient!

BODY SCRUB TIME

Body Scrub

I am sure some of you might wonder why this post is in the lifestyle category. so let’s consider having a nice and soft skin as a lifestyle. I do and I wish you would agree. : ) body scrubs, exfoliators or peelings are basically the same, there are just different names used. try to use one where there are no plastic balls involved because it is not good for the planet and also not good for your skin.

M.ASAM has amazing body scrubs and I have tested some and I gotta to say: I found a favorite among them. my favorite one is called BROWN SUGAR. unfortunately I could not find it anymore on their online shop, but they have a very similar one that you can check here >> another one I have tried by M.ASAM is called 2015 and is a very nice slightly powdery fragranced scrub. the last one I have tried by them is called DREAM OF ROSES and I was only able to find the body cream – check here >>  the cool thing about M.ASAM is that they sell scrubs and creams from the same fragrance and line. after the peeling I love using the same fragranced cream.

FUN FACT
at M.ASAM you can customize the stick on label by adding text to the two bottom lines. also there are options to choose different background images. check the example here >> this makes it a very great CHRISTMAS present!

in the image above you can see a blue scrub (top) thats the one by CLINIQUE and I have used that one in summer a lot, it is a cool and fresh body scrub called SPARKLE SKIN BODY EXFOLIATOR this product is great for men and women as it has no fragrance. the other two are by M.ASAM. the middle one is DREAM OF ROSES and the bottom one is BROWN SUGAR. unforutnately I used up the 2015 body scrub already during summer but you can see the packaging in the photo below. for sure I will be talking about it in my next EMPTIES video on youtube.

BODY SCRUB

how often and what for?
I use a body scrub every other day. in summer I like a cooling fresh one and in winter I like a nice warm scented one. in spring I use body scrubs before fake tanning but in general I think it is great to remove the old dead pieces of skin. after showering with a body scrub my skin feels amazingly soft and smooth. especially my ellbow, knees and heels like an extra scrub. body scrubs are great for men and women and I am sure that you will find something nice for you.

MY NEW SHOWER BUDDY

IMG_7367

today it is all about the shower and I wanna share with you my newest shower buddy: LUBEX peeling. for the past ten years or more I have been daily using the DERMED wash lotion. my skin is very sensitive and dry and therefore I need to watch out for too rough and too drying out washlotions and peelings. the LUBEX peeling regenerates the skin and makes it velvety soft and thats exactly what we need in preparation for summer.

the cool thing about this peeling is that it is a 2 in 1 product, it is for the face and the body. but as I have already told you in previous posts I have couperose around my cheeks and thats why I have to handle these parts with special soft care. BUT I have been using the peeling for the body until tuesday night and I really liked it. at the moment showering is NOT a walk in the park as my bruises from the bike
accident burn when wet and being washed with lotion.

in general do not use any peeling too often, once or twice a week is enough for me.. and the most important thing after peeling aka exfoliating is to moisturize the skin. aww, there are so many nice ways to treat oneself, right? HOME SPA is one of them.

HOW TO USE AND WHERE?
apply to the damp skin, gently massage in a circular motion 15 to 30 seconds, let it soak for a moment and rinse thoroughly with water. thats it – as simple as any other peeling or exfoliator. it is perfect for rougher parts of the body  and it helps the
regeneration of the stratum corneum. for normal, oily or blemished skin it is also great for a facial scrub and the last option is to use it as  a supplementary therapy for acne, predominantly the non-inflammatory stage.

WHAT DOES THE MAGIC?
the active ingredients are polidocanol 600* and bisabolol** and they soothe the skin.
the LUBEX peeling washing cream has a 2-phase effect:
effect phase 1
small round polyethylene granules (microgranules scrub = biodegradable) remove dead skin cells and make the skin silky smooth.
effect phase 2
glycolic acid (fruit acid peel) regenerates the skin structure deep down and activates the skin renewal

*polidocanol is included in antipruritic and skin-care medicines, for external use only.

**bisabolol is an ingredient of chamomile with anti-inflammatory, disinfecting and wound healing promoting properties. it is externally applied for the treatment of skin diseases.

so I hope you have found this article interesting and that you now know more about my new shower buddy. have a lovely day. X

something new by M.ASAM

something new by M.ASAM! I dont know why but somehow I didnt know anything about the brand M.ASAM and was super happy to learn more about it on the beautypress event in ZH. I love body creams and scrubs and when I discovered their range of products I knew what would make me happy! they have different fragrances with matching peeling, body cream and perfume. thats exactly the way I like it too, one fragrance for all the things! I love roses and so I was overwhelmed that I got one of the the dream of roses body cream in my press bag 🙂 and I also got the 2015 a rather sweet and almondy scented body exfoliant. unfortunately I didnt have the chance to test them yet as I am using up some other products first. when I test something I really wanna use the product for a while and like this I can also see what it does to my skin over a certain amount of time.

something new by M.ASAM

recently I have started to make youtube videos and one of my subjects is EMPTIES – I ramble about my empty products and tell you if I had repurchased it or not. and that is another reason why I have not tested the M.ASAM products yet I wanna empty all my body creams and body scrubs first and then I’ll start to use the DREAM OF ROSES body cream and 2015 body exfoliant!

these two videos were actually the first ones I have recorded and as you can see I did everything wrong that one could do wrong. wrong camera,
wrong angle and and and.. so I tried to change that in the other videos.
please take a moment and watch my videos and dont forget to hit the
subscribe button and tell all your friends about my channel <3

about M.ASAM

1963: Ingrid and Erich Asam established the traditional cosmetics company Asam. Since then, distinguished dermatologists, scientists and chemists have been researching new ingredients, especially those made from grapes, with the aim of using them in innovative skin care products.
1983: Germany’s first system for the production of OPC, cold-pressed grape seed oil, grape cell water and resveratrol was established by the Asam family in Landau in the state of Palatinate. The grapes are grown in the family’s own vineyards, freshly harvested each year and processed in the company’s system for making anti-aging ingredients.
2000: After ten years of in-depth research on the way in which grapes prevent skin aging, Mirjam and Marcus Asam established their own M. Asam® cosmetics range. Their first skin care range, VINO GOLD®, is based on the knowledge of the anti-aging effects of grapes.
2003: For the first time, Mirjam and Marcus Asam presented their VINO GOLD® skin care range to a wider public. Together with their sales partner – the Munich-based teleshopping channel HSE24 – they embarked on a unique road to success.
2005: Mirjam and Marcus Asam launched their M. Asam® range of skin care products in the USA for the first time. The major US teleshopping channel HSN was thrilled to find that these skin care products “Made in Germany” proved to be so popular.
2006: VINOLIFT®, another luxury skin care range, was born. By VINOLIFT® liposomes act as a transport system for effective penetration of the key ingredients into the skin. The encapsulated technology results in a delayed release of the ingredients where they are needed.
2007: AQUA INTENSE® was developed, a fragrance free moisturizing range based on the patent pending M. Asam® hyaluronic acid complex. The special Moisture Recharge Complex – consisting of high-molecular and low-molecular hyaluronic acid, liposomally encapsulated hyaluronic acid and escin – has been proven to penetrate into the skin more deeply than conventional hyaluronic acid, supplying it more intensively with moisture and counteracting the decomposition of the skin’s own supply of hyaluronic acid. M. Asam® is now represented in many other countries such as the UK, France, Turkey, Canada and Asia (Taiwan, Hong Kong).
2008: Munich – the development and research laboratory was extended. Every day, new formulations are created here, the extensive and important task of quality assurance is fulfilled and scientific proof of the effects of key ingredients is documented. Skin compatibility tests carried out by external dermatological institutes are controlled and evaluated here.
2009: Launch of the high-concentration vitamin series PURE VITAMINS, the ingredients of which are among the most researched anti-aging ingredients. The simultaneous use of the vitamins retinol (vitamin A), stabilized vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin B3 and provitamin B5 follows the recommendations for dermacosmetics (“Dermacosmetics against skin aging”) published by the Dermapharmaceutical Association.
2010: The start of DORMA CELL – a high-quality skin care concept with IBR-Dormin® (obtained from dormant daffodil bulbs). This key ingredient puts cells into a resting state, thus slowing down cell division and delaying the aging process of the cells.
2011: The family-owned cosmetics production facility has been extended since M. Asam® was established. New development laboratories, production halls and a new, modern logistics center were constructed on a surface area of more than 10,000 m2 in Beilngries/Altmühltal, Bavaria. The new office complex, housing all employees in the Purchasing, Administration, Sales, Marketing and Executive Divisions, was completed in 2011. June 2011: A new M. Asam® milestone! Starting June 18th Mirjam and Marcus Asam launched the M. Asam® cosmetics brand on QVC, Germany’s leading teleshopping channel.

SELF TAN EXPRESS MOUSSE!

SELF TAN EXPRESS MOUSSE, thats on my to do list today!
it is time to test some beauty products and feel like a pampered princess. so what is most important to start spring?

yesss!
exfoliating and scrubbing to get rid of dead skin and to prepare for an
awesome looking fake tan! I use many different products to exfoliate for
example one from the body shop, one from Clinique, one from Palmolive
and one by M.Asam they are all good and do what they need to.

SELF TAN EXPRESS MOUSSE

after I exfoliated my skin it is time to moisturize my ankles, feet, ellbows and knees – these are all rather dry parts of the body and we dont want them to stick out and be darker.

start with the legs and work your way up by using the mitt – apply only what is left on the mitt as a last step to ellbows, feet, knees and ankles. leave on for ONE hour for a rather light tan – TWO hours of a medium tan and THREE hours for a dark tan. I did it last week for the first time and I was quiet scared and only left it for 45 minutes but the result was gorgeous. I got some nice compliments on the tan on my belly and this made me courageous enough to give it a second try and leave it for ONE hour 🙂 the tan gradually fades and there are no lines, no spots and no streaks! so I did it last night and this morning I woke up with a nicely tanned body – YAY!

so far I have used the LANCASTER products and I really like the ones for the face and I think I will use them both – the ST.TROPEZ for the body and the LANCASTER for the face – ready for spring and ready to show some legs!

ST.TROPEZ is sold at MANOR and GLOBUS or you can find it online here <<

good morning

better late than never – I am ready for a lovely breakfast. berries and coffee latte are today’s choice. mmmhhmm!

HAPPY TUESDAY – today I will have to organize many things and will try to create some new fancy outfits. the weather in basel is really funny – it jumps between super cold and quiet mild. that’s why I m already in a spring mood 🙂

but first let me answer some questions regarding makeup and beauty!

#what’s my favorite make up product?
awww that’s a tough one as I would have to choose between lipstick and bronzing powder..mmmhhmm I would say LIPSTICK!

#how long does it take me for my daily makeup?
ooooh that is an easy one – my daily makeup is done super fast – it takes me about 7 minutes.

#do I use anti-aging products if yes for how long?
so, I am 31 years old soon 32 and I do use some anti-aging products. I would say I started about five years ago. my main goal is to look healthy and not super young. therefore I like products with organic oil or other natural ingredients. my favorite skin care products are KIEHL’S midnight recovery concentrate, the new LUBEX anti-age hydration oil and SISLEY black rose cream mask! by using these products over night I can slightly manipulate my skin to look fresher and healthier!

#how many times a week do I use masks or peeling/exfoliating products?
ooooh that’s a good one! I love using masks and I love to pamper my skin with peeling so it really depends on the product. some masks can be used twice per week and some only once. so for example I use the SISLEY rose mask once a week and I use the KIEHL’S over night biological peel every other night.

#what do I use to wash and clean my face?
I use something rather new the CLINIQUE foaming sonic facial soap – with or without the SONIC face brush.

wow – it took me a second to answer all these questions but it was great fun and I will answer more of your questions in the future 🙂 have a lovely day! x
