SKIN CARE UPDATE
Life is constantly changing and so are also some of the products we use. I have recently completely changed my daily skin care and wanna share all these changes with you. I am now using AESOP products. Not only the design of the products but furthermore the benefits of each product has made me super happy. Now lets see what I have found out about all the products I am currently using and see what I personally think. Lets start with my SKIN CARE UPDATE:
Parsley Seed Facial Cleansing Oil

SKIN CARE UPDATE

According to the website this is a mild, makeup-removing cleanser suited to dry, combination or sensitive skin. It is a gentle, preservative-free cleansing oil that will rinse skin of even the heaviest makeup in addition to imparting bountiful anti-oxidant benefits. The skin is left thoroughly purified, softened and refreshed.
How to apply the product?
Pour a couple of drops into your clean, damp hands and mix it with several drops of water to form a milky emulsion. Massage over face and neck  and then rinse.
Ingredients
Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Oil, C12-13 Pareth-3, Tocopherol, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Bisabolol, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Ormenis Multicaulis Oil, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Oil, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Carum Petroselinum (Parsley) Seed Oil, Beta-Carotene, Linalool. The Parsley Seed Facial Cleansing Oil has a nutty aroma and lets your skin feel supple, softened and hydrated. I use it every night and it removes all of my makeup. I am not wearing heavy leayers of makeup. Usually I wear a tinted moisturizer, bronzing powder, mascara and lipstick. The only negative thing I can say about this cleanser is that it stains the sink after every use. Somehow it leaves a very weird and oily residue. So after every use I have to wipe the sink. As I have my cleansing tools right below the sink this is an easy thing to do. And in the end its totally worth it, as I really love the way the Parsley Seed Facial Oil leaves my skin.
 B & Tea Balancing Toner
SKIN CARE UPDATE
This is a gentle, everyday toner suited to all skin types, including sensitive. Yay, as my skin is quiet sensitive I was happy to read that. It is a gentle skin-balancing blend, named for its inclusion of Provitamin B5 (a form of Panthenol) and Green Tea extract. The toner offers light hydration and anti-oxidant protection. It leaves the pores refined while the skin is cleansed of any remaining grime and gently prepared for subsequent hydration.
How to apply the product?
Use half a teaspoon of B & Tea Balancing Toner onto a cotton pad or directly into your hands, and pat onto skin. In order to make our world a better place I have stopped using cotton pads on a daily base. Thats why I love to use the toner directly in my hands.

The B& Tea Balancing Toner has a floral and herbaceous aroma. The texture is watery and it leaves the skin feel balanced and freshened. I am not sure if I will be repurchasing that particular toner. I might switch to an alcohol free Aesop toner because I have the feeling that this would be more suiting for me. Nevertheless I like to use this toner and am already half way through. So anyway it will be the product that I have to repurchase first.
Damascan Rose Facial Treatment

SKIN CARE UPDATE

The Damascan Rose Facial Treatment is a  precious and potent nourishing treatment for extremely dry or distressed skin. It is an exquisite treat not only for the skin but also for the senses, due to its wonderful rosy scent. This concentrated botanical oil is ideal for skin in need of intense, soothing hydration. It consists of ten precious and potent plant extracts who deliver Vitamins E and A.
How to apply the product?
Massage three to five drops onto cleansed and toned skin from forehead to neck. What I love to do is to blend the oil with my hydrating cream. Some days I also use it by itself when I am in need of some extra hydration.

The Damascan Rose Facial Treatment has a floral, earthy and slightly exotic aroma. The product texture is rich and oily. It leaves the skin feel hydrated, replenished and nourished. As I have already mentioned I love using this oily either by itself or mixed with my moisturizer. What I love about it is that the oil is being absorbed super fast. So on days where my skin feels extra dry I can even use the treatment during the day. Be sure to wear a high SPF, not only when wearing oily treatments. In spring and summer I am using a high SPF (30 or 50) and in fall and winter the SPF 25 that I have in my tinted moisturizer is enough for me.
Camellia Nut Facial Hydrating Cream

SKIN CARE UPDATE

The Camelia Nut Facial Hydrating Cream is a nourishing daily moisturizer for dry or sensitive skin. According to the AESOP website: the complex blend of nut and plant extracts in this extensively researched formulation absorbs swiftly. Providing anti-oxidant fortification and richly nourishing hydration without a weighty after-feel. Superbly emollient cold-pressed Macadamia Nut oil softens the skin, while Camellia Nut oil and Chamomile oil pacify irritation and patchiness.
How to apply the product?
Massage into cleansed and toned skin. I personally dont like to massage creams. I rather pad and press the creams on to my skin. Massaging makes my skin red and since I am already dealing with a more pinkish complexion I want to make sure to avoid looking even more red.

The Camelia Nut Facial Hydrating Cream has a floral, nutty and woody aroma. It is a medium-weight cream that leaves the skin hydrated and matte. I am not sure whether I will be continuing to use this cream. I dont like the fact that it contains alcohol and want to check if they have one without alcohol that is good for dry to sensitive skin. Nevertheless I am using this cream day and night, and sometimes with a couple of drops of the Damascan Rose Oil. I am already more than half way thru. So after the toner this will be the next product to repurchase.
 Purifying Facial Exfoliant Paste

SKIN CARE UPDATE

So what I have found via the website is that it is a cream-based exfoliating formula suited to most skin types. Fine river-bed Quartz contained in a cream base performs exceptional exfoliation, sloughing away tired surface skin. Lactic Acid assists a mild, chemical exfoliation resulting in thoroughly purified, revived skin.
How to apply the product?
Dispense a small amount into the palm of your hand and work the formula over the face and neck, including the lips. Avoid the immediate eye area. Allow the Quartz and Lactic Acid to gently exfoliate by employing minimal pressure. Rinse well with luke warm water and pat dry.

The Purifying Facial Exfoliant Paste has an active, earthy lavender aroma. The skin feels polished, exfoliated and softened. I absolutely love this exfoliating paste. Eventhough I have very sensitive skin with couperose parts on my cheeks I enjoy using it. Of course I avoid the cheek areas and focus on my chin, forhead and nose. The cool thing is that this product is going to last for a while as you should only apply it once a week and need very little product.
Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque
SKIN CARE UPDATE
This is a wonderful product, I seriously love it. Its a clay-based masque to deeply cleanse and refresh your skin and it is suitable to all skin types. The blend of premium clays and botanicals lifts deep-seated impurities and refreshes the skin. Parsley Seed extracts deliver potent anti-oxidants while other botanical elements cleanse and revive skin.
How to apply the product?
Use after cleansing and apply a thin layer over skin, excluding eye and lip areas. Leave to dry for about fifteen minutes, or longer if time permits, and then rinse thoroughly with cool water and pat dry.

The Parsley Seed Cleansing Masque has a lavendery, herbaceous aroma. The texture is fine, and contains smooth Clay Oils. It leaves the skin deeply cleansed, softened and refreshed.

SKIN CARE UPDATE

Out of all the AESOP products I really like this one the best. I can really see a difference in what it does to my skin. At the very moment I am dealing with impurities and regularely using this masque helps me a lot.  The only thing that worries me a bit is that almost all their procucts contain alcohol. I was told that when you have sensitive skin you should avoid using products that contain alcohol. I would be curious to hear your opinion about alcohol content in skin care. Please comment below. Also I would love to know which is your favorite AESOP product. Maybe there is something you can recommend that I have not tried yet.

I got asked to check out some Eucerin products and chose to explore the benefits and purposes of the DermatoCLEAN tonic and eye makeup remover. I have only heard great things about the Eucerin but have so far never used any of their products. Now lets see what I have found out about the tonic and eye makeup remover.

DermatoCLEAN TONIC and EYE MAKEUP REMOVER

It claims to gently remove all cleanser traces and lets the skin breathe more easily. Furthermore it has been tested on sensitive skin. This is a big PLUS. So many people have sensitive skin, including me. And therefore it is always great to hear that a product has been tested for exactly this kind of skin type.
The main reason to use a tonic after cleansing ones face is to prepare the skin better for regeneration and the following serums and or creams. The skin feels noticeably clean and soothed and clearly delicate and supple. I have loved their tonic and was surprised to read that it is for all skin types, eventhough it was tested for sensitive skin. Another great thing is that the tonic contains no alcohol. The biggest results and benefits of using a tonic are to let the skin breathe. By daily using a tonic before moisturizing the oxygen uptake improves significantly. And therefore the skin moisture improves too.
In case you have never used a tonic before, here is how you would use it.
Apply to a cotton pad and wipe gently over the face, neck and décolleté to prepare the skin optimally for the absorption of the next active ingredients. In my case I stopped using cotton pads and am using the JEMAKO pads instead. Like this I produce less trash and do something for a better place to live on. I can highly recommend them to you.

It claims to remove gently and thoroughly ones eye make-up and water-resistant mascara. Especially with summer ahead, a lot of women are using waterproof mascaras and are in need for a good and gentle remover. A non-greasy, two-phase formula comprising: an upper layer for removing water-proof make-up and a lower layer for removing water-soluble make-up. By shaking it the two phases are getting activated and are ready to be used.
Eyes are the windows to our souls. I love that saying and totally agree. We can see if someone is tired or sad by looking into their eyes. Also one can tell if someone is taking good care of their skin. The eye area has super sensitive skin and it is very important to be very gentle. Like the tonic also the eye makeup remover has been tested on sensitive skin. And aswell it claims to be for all skin types. I was very happy to read that they have conducted controlled application studies with participants aged 18 to 75 who had partially sensitive skin.
I guess its clear to everyone how to use eyemakeup remover, but one never knows. So here we go: Shake well to mix the two phases. Apply to a cotton pad. Gently wipe from the inside outwards over the eye area until no remover is left on the cotton pad.

after a very nice welcome I was served a cold glass of water and was ready for the presentation. we quickly talked about the different lines and their benefits and then she started to ask me questions about my skin and recommended some products:

first I was not sure if I should mention LA PRAIRIE at all as my skin did not like the recommended products but nevertheless I was invited to see the new booth inside GLOBUS, had a lovely time there and therefore I wanted to share these news with you.

BODY SCRUB TIME

Body Scrub

I am sure some of you might wonder why this post is in the lifestyle category. so let’s consider having a nice and soft skin as a lifestyle. I do and I wish you would agree. : ) body scrubs, exfoliators or peelings are basically the same, there are just different names used. try to use one where there are no plastic balls involved because it is not good for the planet and also not good for your skin.

M.ASAM has amazing body scrubs and I have tested some and I gotta to say: I found a favorite among them. my favorite one is called BROWN SUGAR. unfortunately I could not find it anymore on their online shop, but they have a very similar one that you can check here >> another one I have tried by M.ASAM is called 2015 and is a very nice slightly powdery fragranced scrub. the last one I have tried by them is called DREAM OF ROSES and I was only able to find the body cream – check here >>  the cool thing about M.ASAM is that they sell scrubs and creams from the same fragrance and line. after the peeling I love using the same fragranced cream.

FUN FACT
at M.ASAM you can customize the stick on label by adding text to the two bottom lines. also there are options to choose different background images. check the example here >> this makes it a very great CHRISTMAS present!

in the image above you can see a blue scrub (top) thats the one by CLINIQUE and I have used that one in summer a lot, it is a cool and fresh body scrub called SPARKLE SKIN BODY EXFOLIATOR this product is great for men and women as it has no fragrance. the other two are by M.ASAM. the middle one is DREAM OF ROSES and the bottom one is BROWN SUGAR. unforutnately I used up the 2015 body scrub already during summer but you can see the packaging in the photo below. for sure I will be talking about it in my next EMPTIES video on youtube.

BODY SCRUB

how often and what for?
I use a body scrub every other day. in summer I like a cooling fresh one and in winter I like a nice warm scented one. in spring I use body scrubs before fake tanning but in general I think it is great to remove the old dead pieces of skin. after showering with a body scrub my skin feels amazingly soft and smooth. especially my ellbow, knees and heels like an extra scrub. body scrubs are great for men and women and I am sure that you will find something nice for you.

VITAMIN C, PLEASE!

Vitamin C please

yup, today I wanna introduce something with vitamin C – something we all can not have enough of. so what is it? I am talking about the Lubex anti–age® Vitamin C Concentrate. a product for a more even and younger-looking skin. Oh, when I read that off the packaging I was thinking, why not giving it a try. but first I wanna share all the things that I have found about this product:

+ increases the collagen content and reduces highly significant wrinkles

+ reduces pigment and age spots and ensures an even skin tone
(cress sprout extract, soy isoflavones in combination with vitamin C glucoside)

vitamin-C-glucosides
also called provitamin C. vitamin-C-glucosides has an antioxidant against free radicals, reduces pigmentation marks and repaires the stressed skin by UV rays. so vitamin-C-glucosides are very active against skin aging and therfore used by LUBEX anti age serum!

hyaluronic acid
intensively hydrates the epidermis and protects the skin from drying out. in addition, they act like retinol (vitamin A) and pepdtide:  that means they improve the structure and density of the skin and make it more elastic.

how to apply

apply to clean skin and avoid the eye area day or night before applying moisturizer/foundation or your night cream. it is suitable for all skin types and can be used as a short time treatment for a month or two or can be used for a longer period but then I personally would not recommend to apply it every day and night. in case you want to use it for a longer period I would suggest to only use it every second or third night and apply the LUBEX anti-age SERUM on the other days/nights.

these are my favorite products for summer and I quickly want to introduce each of them.

I use this for my hair. Before after or during sunbathing or swimming. It helps to protect the hair from UV dammage.

SPORTS transparent gel

I have only started using this sunscreen last week and I gotta admit its the best I have ever tried. It has no perfumes, no mineral oils, no emulsifiers, no preservatives and the best thing: water-resistant! I use it once a day in the morning and it lasts all day. Usually I wear SPF50 but now that I am a bit more tanned I think I am absolutely fine with SPF30.

this is my go to product for the face. I apply it every morning in summer before leaving the house. my skin is very sensitive and I have red parts on my cheeks thats why I need to protect my skin even more.

this product is amazing. I apply it every evening after spending a day in the sun. Its such a nice feeling to spray this cooling mist and it helps your tan to last.

I have only tried this for a couple of times and I like what it does. I spray it in the morning before tanning or being in the sun all over my hair. It has the perfect travelsize!

thats a provocative way to start a blogpost, especially when it is related to beauty : ) anyway I think it fits perfectly as I am talking about three products for the face by LUBEX anti-age.

I am using the night classic and day classic UV30 on a daily/nightly base and it feels awesome to have a complete LUBEX anti-age skin regimen. I first clean my face with the LUBEX anti-age milk and then use the LUBEX anti-age tonic. for the night I either apply the oil or the already mentioned NIGHT CLASSIC but before I do that I use the LUBEX anti-age SERUM.

lets get more information about some of the ingredients.

ectoine acts as a natural DNA and cell protective factor against UV-induced skin damage and it supports the immune system of the skin! furthermore it prepares the skin for an efficient response to stress. ectoine was identified as the one substance that protected the organisms in the desert from intense sunlight, high temperature and drought. it is used as an active ingredient in skin care and sun protection, it stabilizes the natural structure of biopolymers such as proteins, nucleic acids and biomembranes. ectoine has been shown to protect against skin damage caused by UVA and UVB radiation and the most special feature: ectoine does not act as UV filters, but rather as a preventative cell protection against sun allergies, UV-induced skin aging and light dermatoses. it prevents damage in the epidermis and in the deeper layers of the skin and protects the skin’s immune system!

microalga act synergistically as a natural cell and DNA protection factors against UV – induced skin damage and tighten the skin quickly and sustainably.

peptides are very important messengers to block the skin and they play a huge role in wound healing. even the normal daily skin regeneration process has to deal with small tissue damage that must be repaired and balanced. over time this ability declines more and more and the aging process of the skin begins. poly-, penta- and hexapeptides specifically activate biological restructuring processes in the skin and therefore age-related skin damage is being repaired – the skin becomes more resilient and toned. tripeptides significantly increase collagen synthesis and actively promote the matrix structure of the skin. it fills wrinkles from the inside!

hyaluronate intensively hydrates the epidermis and protects the skin from drying out. in addition, they act like retinol (vitamin A) and pepdtide: that means they improve the structure and density of the skin and make it more elastic.

niacinamide intensively activates the skin renewal, effectively reduces wrinkles and rejuvenates the skin.

VERVEINE AGRUMES by L’OCCITANE is really worth a try – something new fresh and nice for spring summer. there are many different products and I got to try the shampoo and the body milk but have not opened them yet. too many other things to try first 🙂 hahahaha, thats the life of a blogger – no I am just kidding, certain things need time to really test and I only want to write about things in detail when I have tested them. so this blogpost is more an announcement.

finally the sun is back in town and this makes everything a lot easier. at the moment I am planning some outfit posts and am so excited to travel to KARLSRUHE

MY NEW SHOWER BUDDY

today it is all about the shower and I wanna share with you my newest shower buddy: LUBEX peeling. for the past ten years or more I have been daily using the DERMED wash lotion. my skin is very sensitive and dry and therefore I need to watch out for too rough and too drying out washlotions and peelings. the LUBEX peeling regenerates the skin and makes it velvety soft and thats exactly what we need in preparation for summer.

the cool thing about this peeling is that it is a 2 in 1 product, it is for the face and the body. but as I have already told you in previous posts I have couperose around my cheeks and thats why I have to handle these parts with special soft care. BUT I have been using the peeling for the body until tuesday night and I really liked it. at the moment showering is NOT a walk in the park as my bruises from the bike
accident burn when wet and being washed with lotion.

in general do not use any peeling too often, once or twice a week is enough for me.. and the most important thing after peeling aka exfoliating is to moisturize the skin. aww, there are so many nice ways to treat oneself, right? HOME SPA is one of them.

HOW TO USE AND WHERE?
apply to the damp skin, gently massage in a circular motion 15 to 30 seconds, let it soak for a moment and rinse thoroughly with water. thats it – as simple as any other peeling or exfoliator. it is perfect for rougher parts of the body  and it helps the
regeneration of the stratum corneum. for normal, oily or blemished skin it is also great for a facial scrub and the last option is to use it as  a supplementary therapy for acne, predominantly the non-inflammatory stage.

WHAT DOES THE MAGIC?
the active ingredients are polidocanol 600* and bisabolol** and they soothe the skin.
the LUBEX peeling washing cream has a 2-phase effect:
effect phase 1
small round polyethylene granules (microgranules scrub = biodegradable) remove dead skin cells and make the skin silky smooth.
effect phase 2
glycolic acid (fruit acid peel) regenerates the skin structure deep down and activates the skin renewal

*polidocanol is included in antipruritic and skin-care medicines, for external use only.

**bisabolol is an ingredient of chamomile with anti-inflammatory, disinfecting and wound healing promoting properties. it is externally applied for the treatment of skin diseases.

TAN MAXIMIZER by LANCASTER

as every year I wanna show you some awesome sun products – today we lay the focus on APRES SOILEIL by LANCASTER and their collection is called TAN MAXIMIZER. the one above is for the face and can be applied directly after tanning. it moisturizes the sunkissed skin and helps to achieve an even nice tan. the one below is for the body and I feel that this one has a bit of a cooling effect, a very light one though. IMG_4029the one below is a really cooling one and so far I have only used the spray on my legs, but I am looking forward to spraying my entire body after a long hot day in the sun with this cooling mist. and then there is something nice for the whole day – a summer fragrance by LANCASTER and it totally smells like summer holiday – SOLE DI CAPRI. awww, CPARI is on my MUST SEE list..IMG_4045

something nice and new!

L’OCCITANE has launched a new collection AMANDE velvet and it smells like heaven or at least thats what I think heaven could smell like if such thing exists. so when I have received those two lovely products I didnt know with which one to start and I decided to try them both and when I was reading more about it that actually made sense as there is a balm and a serum.

the velvet balm is a nice cream with almond tree native cells that help to intensely nourish the skin. it also makes the skin look refined, firmer and smoother. the velvet serum should be applied before the velvet balm and it makes the skin feel plumped, look more even and smooth. it also helps to reduce the appearance of sun-induced dark spots.

I was already a huge fan of the AMANDE milk – read more here << and the new AMANDE velvet balm is very similar but less rich and creamy. the AMANDE velvet balm has a floral and powdery scent of blooming almond trees! mmhhmm – so nice!

TREAT YOURSELF

I have tried two more of the Lubex anti-age products and today I wanna tell you a little bit about the CLEANSING MILK and TONIC. in case you have missed my latest product review have a look here <<

“gin and tonic for you and milk and tonic for me”

the mild cleansing formula gently removes makeUp and I have really tried it to the max meaning I removed all my makeUp with it including the eyemakeUp. I read that it is not removing some of the waterproof mascaras but I am never using any waterproof one so I can not tell. cleaning your skin is the first step to a clear and healthy looking skin and when I used the cleansing milk it felt like it already started to pamper my skin. on the packaging I read that the skin caring effect already starts during cleansing. et voila! it contains Vitamin C – ProVitamin E and Coenzym Q10 that help to reduce the dammage caused by the environment.

I applied the milk all over my face and neck including the eye area then I have used a damp cotton pad to remove the access. when I was wearing a heavy foundation and lots of eyemakeUp I had to do it two times. I have to be honest with you that I am actually not a big fan of cleansing milks and that every morning in the shower I use a foaming face wash and use water to clean my face. but then I read a lot about sensitive skin and not using water to clean the face and it made me think if that might be the solution to my skin issues.. I gave it a try and am using the cleansing milk for the last two weeks and I really got used to it. I have only used it in the evening as I take a shower every morning and still clean my face with water.

after cleaning my face I am ready for step two: the tonic! it refreshes the skin and makes it supple and nice. hyaluronates help to hydrate the skin and protect it from dehydration. I pumped two or three times and that was enough for my face and neck. the tonic prepares your skin for the next step: serum. the packaging of the tonic says that it is aqueous base without alcohol. yay – that is perfect for my sensitive skin. most of the common tonics contain alcohol and for most of the people this works fine but not for me. : )

I have used the I AM 10in1 miracle beauty balm and I can totally say that this product is made for a practical and busy woman with little space in their bathroom. I mean ten products in one – c’mon thats amazing, right? so let me tell you the ten thing this little bugger is good for:
