ONE DRESS – MANY WAYS TO WALK IT
ONE DRESS – MANY WAYS TO WALK IT
I am so in love with this new dress that I have found in one of my favorite shops in Basel: Le Mouton a 5 Pates. A super simple grey SILVIAN HEACH dress to wear in many different ways. Today I wanna show you that you can wear the same dress and only change the shoes. A very simple way to make your dresses more versatile.
one dress – many ways to walk it #1
lets start with the comfiest and easiest way to walk: Sneakers. A pair of black sneakers should be key to every wardrobe. A very easy way to dress down a nice dress.

Metallic shoes were quiet a big trend. And I found my silver shoes in C&A on SALE for 19 CHF. An amazing bargain. Not only great to dress up your look in a comfy way but also perfect to jazz up a simple jeans and sweatshirt look.

And now a very easy way to upgrade your dress by wearing black heels. In my opinion every lady should have a pair of black heels. No matter if the heel height is only 2 cm.

Simple black flats, also something that we all should own. Nothing works better to make a chic outfit look more casual. I found these babes at ALDO in Marseille.

Boots are a great way to wear a dress in winter. I found these wedge boots at the Zalando Lounge Sale. They are very comfy to walk in due to the wedge heel. Black boots are perfect becasue they are working with so many different colors and looks. I am not so sure anymore whether I like these kind of boots with jeans. It somehow reminds me of the late 90s, early 2000, when this boot over skinny jean was a big success. Maybe with a pair of over the knee boots, who knows.
I wanna thank Miguel for taking the photos of me, it was quiet an adventure. We found this little platform on the water (Rhein) that was perfect to take the photos. I was able to get there with almost all the shoes, except for the wedge boots that you can see in the photo above.
Here is a photo that shows how hard it was to get to that tiny platform. I was prepared to fall in the super cold water but luckily didn’t. 🙂 Have a lovely day. X
EYE LASH extension at KOSMETIK JESSICA
I got an eye lash extension at Kosmetik Jessica in Liestal and I absolutely love the result. So without further ado I want to show you how she did it and wanna tell you a bit more about my extensions.
eye lash extension at KOSMETIK JESSICA in LIESTAL:
This photo was taken right after I had the lash extension done. My eyes were a bit watery but that was the only negative side affect that I have experienced. As I mentioned in the video, I went back and had a full set applied. In the video and in the photo below there are only a few lashes added. I naturally have nice lashes and I hardly ever wear mascara but the thing that I had to do every day was using the eye lash curler. My lashes are long but rather straight. So in my case the eye lash extension gives me this lovely lift and curled lashes.
Jessica is able to extend your lashes for up to 2 mm. In case you think that this is not enough then she is not the right person for you. but actually 2 mm makes quiet a difference. In fact the extension is not about length, its about volume, lift and curl. I acheived all of this with the 1 to 1 eye lash extension method. Jessica glued a fake lash to my natural lash. There is also the fan lash extension where she glues 3 smaller and thinner lashes to one of your natural lashes. The 1 to 1 is more casual and not as dramatic as the fan lash or also called 3D lash extension.
The lashes fall out, either together with your natural lashes or sometimes they can also fall out without your natural lashes. I kept almost all the lashes that fell out. As you can see in the photo below, there are lashes with natural lashes and some without. Every morning I brush my lashes with the spoolie brush that I got from Jessica. I really recommend to do that at least once a day in order to keep the lashes nicely and separated. The lash extension feels very natural, this really surprised me. I can still rub my eyes and I can clean my face like I did before. The only thing to change is to not use any oily makeUp remover around the eyes. Jessica is using GL Alessandro lashes and that’s also where she has learned how to do extensions.
In case you are from Basel or Basel-Land and you are thinking about a lash extension then you should def check out Kosmetik Jessica’s website. Besides the eye lash extension she also does sugar hair removing and brow shaping with the oriental thread method. At the moment she is going to school to become a cosmetician. So soon she will be able to do lots more.

MOIRAI
so I had the chance to meet Jorina at the Theater Basel and she told me about her own label and about MOIRAI. I asked her what that was and asked her if I could show it on the blog. I sent her some questions and are very happy to share this awesome design spot with you.
1. Who is behind it and what do you do?
MOIRAI is created by three women from Basel, each with their own label and area of expertise.
Jorina Weiss – label “Jorina Weiss“, women’s and men’s fashion
Sabrina Kym – label “Kyry’s“, children’s clothes and accessoires
Anne-Sophie Chiarello – label “Chiara Moira“, women’s fashion
Together we run MOIRAI in Basel: our creative space where design, creation, café and shop are one. We also teach sewing classes here and host our own events. The clothes that these three in-house labels sell are all made by our own hands on site. A truly local shopping experience.
JORINA WEISS
KYRY’S
CHIARA MOIRA
2. Where can we find you?
MOIRAI‘s shop is in Basel at Missionsstrasse 66. You can also find us online at www.moirai.ch, and on facebook www.facebook.com/www.moirai.ch
3. How is it for you to be part of the swiss design scene?
We pride ourselves in our local approach to design. If you like one of our designs, we can custom make it for you, change it to your liking or create something entirely new. We think this way of designing will change the way our customers look at clothes, experience and wear them. It is also possible to learn to make the clothes you see or imagine in our classes.
I really hope you liked this post as much as I had fun to write it. Thank you so much for answering my questions. Its my pleasure to show you local design on such a high level. I encourage you to visit MOIRAI and check their social media for events. Maybe a sewing class might be something for you. 🙂 I wish you all a lovely sunny day and lets hope we can all wear our summer clothes for a bit longer. X

LIEBLINGSMENSCHEN
Thank you dearest Martina for sending me a copy of your amazing book called: LIEBLINGSMENSCHEN. I was a big fan of these friendship books and unfortunately I have no idea where I have my old one. I love the idea of having all my friends in one book. Something haptic, besides facebook, where you can see what kind of plans your friends had, what they are doing now and how they looked as a teen. So I hope by now you somehow have a clue what I am talking about. LIEBLINGSMENSCHEN is a friendship book for adults.
“friendships make the world better and life more beautiful.”
I can totally agree with that. friendships are very important. Looking at this blank book makes me think about my old friendship book. What did I want to become when I grow up? LOL, I wanted to become a marine biologist. and I am sure that I was not the only one with that dream in mind. But things came very differently, as always, and I ended up studying Post-Industrial Design at the Institute HyperWerk in Basel and am the blogger of isawsomethingnice.ch. 🙂 And now there is a new question to answer: what do I want to do when I am retired? Such a good question, thanks for asking, Martina.
So every friend gets to fill a double page. It starts with: ME, MYSELF & I. In this part it is about your names/nicknames when you were born, what you wanted to be, what you are and what you want to do when you are retired. Followed by BACK IN THE DAYS. There you can tell a bit about your childhood, your favorite song on repeat and where you have so far travelled to. The next page starts with RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW. Here you can write about current things like, whats in your fridge at the very moment or you can share what makes you happy. Last but not least the part about YOU & ME. When and how did we meet? Things that I admire about you and you get the possibility to share something from the past. Do you remember…
Aaawwww, I am so happy to have one of these books! I can not wait to start giving it to my friends to fill out. it is a wonderful present idea, thank you again Martina. <3
Until July 5th you can get your copy for 29.90 CHF instead of 34.90 CHF. So it starts with a friendship price and by the way July 5th is also Martinas birthday, yay! Thats all so neat!

OUTFITS – ART BASEL 2016 WEEK
this years Art Basel it was raining constantly and it was a real challenge to pick the right clothes for that week. I had plans to wear some really nice summer sandals that I could wear with almost all of my summery dresses. but due to the rain I had to make some drastic changes to my outfit plans. meaning every dress had to find a matching coat, umbrella and shoes that will not be destroyed by the rain.
I was so honored to wear Natascha’s beautiful designer belts: LITTLE FURNITURE ASSEMBLAGE. for three of my outfits I found a matching belt and these are also the looks that I am going to show you in that post.

and now I wanna show you another lovely combination of a bright color with a beige/white houndstooth coat and a very colorful belt by LITTLE FURNITURE ASSEMBLAGE. I was so happy to see that there was exactly the same blue appearing in the belt. together with the pink and red tones this belt is a true statement piece!

RIVIERA ESCAPE CANDLES
what a funny title! RIVIERA ESCAPE is one of the new YANKEE CANDLE scents they came out with and also the name of the current candles collection:
RIVIERA ESCAPE
SUMMER PEACH
OLIVE & THYME
SEA SALT & SAGE
so let me quickly describe the scents as best as I can, you may know that this is not my best skill, but anyways, lets see which candle scent is my favorite.
I absolutely love the scent of the RIVIERA ESCAPE candle, it is extremly fresh and clean. somehow this reminds me a bit of the clean cotton and midsummer night candles from previous collections. the SUMMER PEACH candle is amazingly fruity, a bit too fruity for me, but nevertheless it does not smell artificial and I can smell real peaches! OLIVE & THYME would be my go to summer evening balcony sitting time candle. mmhhm, I love it and I would say that its a very nice balance in between thyme and olives. last but not least I want to describe SEA SALT & SAGE, this scent I got not in the candle version but as a WAX MELT. you can either use an old oil lamp or find other suitable melt warmers. its very easy, all you need is a wax melt, a wax melt warmer and a normal rechaud candle.you put the wax melt in the wax melt warmer, lid the candle and wait for the wax to melt and your room to smell nice.
my favorite candle is the RIVIERA ESCAPE. I am sure that I am going to burn this next and am already looking forward to. shortly behind my favorite I would place the OLIVE & THYME candle. as I already said, this scent is more of an outdoor one and I will find a lovely place for it on my balcony. my third most favorite is the SEA SALT & SAGE wax melt and my least favorite is SUMMER PEACH.
these are the newest candles of the Riviera Escape collection and so far I have not burned any of these lovely candles as I still have two from the last collection. I am sure you will see my candles in future blogposts, as I love to use candles to decorate my blogger photos. stay tuned for more! X
LA PRAIRIE AT GLOBUS BASEL
for all the readers that live in BASEL, there is a LA PRAIRIE booth inside GLOBUS. I was invited to check it out. LA PRAIRIE is a swiss company known for their prestigious ingredients like caviar or crystals. read more here >>
after a very nice welcome I was served a cold glass of water and was ready for the presentation. we quickly talked about the different lines and their benefits and then she started to ask me questions about my skin and recommended some products:
ANTI-AGING STRESS CREAM
CELLULAR SWISS ICE CRYSTAL DRY OIL
CELLULAR SWISS ICE CRYSTAL CREAM
CELLULAR SWISS ICE CRYSTAL EYE CREAM
EXTRAIT OF SKIN CAVIAR FIRMING COMPLEX
so let me tell you that I am not a big fan of their crazy high prices and that I am not willing to pay so much money for daily skincare. I got samples and I started using them for some days and had terrible breakouts, for my sensitive skin LA PRAIRIE is way too active.
first I was not sure if I should mention LA PRAIRIE at all as my skin did not like the recommended products but nevertheless I was invited to see the new booth inside GLOBUS, had a lovely time there and therefore I wanted to share these news with you.

MY WINTER CREAMS
KORRES
almond blossom
moisturizing cream
SHISEIDO
bio performance
glow revival cream
L’OCCITANE
shea butter 5%
comforting cream / light
I have sensitive skin and in winter my rather normal skin tends to become very dry and therefore needs an extra dose of moisture. as you can read from the title I use different creams in winter than I use in summer and if I am not using a cream I am using a dry oil – like the one from LUBEX anti-age or the one from Kiehls – and if that is not the case either I am using a cream mask over night. after cleaning my face with either a cleansing oil or a cleansing balm I apply toner and then my skin is ready for the cream. try to wash your hands before scooping cream out of the container. unfortunately all the creams I use at the moment are not to squeeze and thats really a negative thing when you have sensitive skin. you want to be sure that your cream is free from bacteria or germs. but the advantage of these containers is that you can scoop every last tiny part out and can use the jars for DIY things like making your own candles or creams. the SHISEIDO cream came with a tiny spatula. I use this to apply all the creams and I wash it with very hot water after every use.
1
if you love almonds you are going to love this moisturising cream by KORRES, a greek brand. (product are made in Greece)
2
if your skin has lost the glow you had during summer then you are going to love the glow revival cream by SHISEIDO, a japanese brand. (but the product is made in France)
3
if your skin is very dry and needs more comfort then you are going to love this comforting cream by L’Occitane, a french brand. (product made in France)
