Are you ready for the NUXE fall news? I got a nice parcel with 3 of their new products and had great fun researching and taking these photos. I mean, look at this wonderful flower composition. I am so very happy to have teamed up with the lovely Carla from Festum Artis and Lush Interior Blog. (festum-artis.ch / lush-interiors.blogspot.ch). So lets start with a small interview to find out more about what Carla is doing.

1. Festum Artis, what a great name! How did you come up with it?

Thank you so much! Well, you’d think finding a company name can’t be that hard but it sure wasn’t easy either – at least not for me. Even though I knew exactly what my work should look like I didn’t know what to call it. Most of all I wanted a name that illustrates my aim at creating artful, one-of-a-kind decorations that give the event and its special moment the frameset it deserves. On the other hand – being the aesthete that I am – it had to be sophisticated. So I read about brainstorming techniques and started exactly that. Storming. Lots of it. And then there it was. It was just like with most things in life: you’ll know it when you see it. But in modern corporate times you don’t only have to have a physical company, you also need a digital identity. So the second I found out I could also register a fitting domain I knew it was meant to be!

2. When did you start Festum Artis, and what can we expect?

Festum Artis is still a very young company – I’ve had the fantastic opportunity to style a couple of events so far and I’m building it up continuously. But my journey started long before that – I’ve been running an interior design blog for five years now, giving decorating advice and also styled a friend’s wedding. I simply love all things beautiful and I value attention to detail. If a client reaches out to me to style a certain event that means that event is – personally or professionally – meaningful and important to them. Therefore I want to create a truly memorable experience. Event decoration doesn’t only have to be made up of a couple of flowers in pot on a table, it can be so much more. From event signage to candy bars and cigar bars, guest favors, seating lounges, floral wall and door decorations, floral arches, photo booths and guestbook ideas and so on and so on – all of these elements, small or big, come together to make an event a beautifully styled happening that enchants its guests. Also I try to stay open minded, always. In all those years of blogging I’ve come to see so many beautiful styles, new interesting vibes and classic pretties. So at Festum Artis there will be no such thing as a signature style being done over and over again. Each client is unique and deserves a unique approach to their special moment. That is why one minute I’ll be decorating a classically elegant wedding and the next a vibrantly colored boho get-together.

3. What are the next projects?

I’m extremely excited to be taking part in the wedding fair MariNatal at KUSPO Münchenstein on October 8th and 9th 2016. I’ll be showing some really beautiful wedding inspirations and I’m in full preparation mode at the moment. At the same time I’ll also be selling my vintage jewelry there and displaying some of the wedding invites that I have created. It’s all going to go together beautifully. After that I’ll be decorating a corporate event for a Cosmetic Institute. I’m so eager to create a sumptuous décor that will get people in the mood for some soul-hugging, feel-good pampering!

ABOUT THE BRAND NUXE

The NUXE brand is the brainchild of Aliza Jabès. NUXE Splendieuse Eye Contour Cream

Is a radiance activating eye cream. It works instantly and over time to diminish the look of dark circles and dark spots under the eyes. It targets dark spots and dark circles to give you the appearance of a brighter, smoother, more rested eye area. Well, that sounds really great. Especially for people with dark eye circles. I guess like with every other cream it needs time to see a result. Regularity is key!

Porcelain Rose, White Crocus and Vitamin C, help to reduce the number and the colour of all types of dark spots (sunlight, ageing, imperfection marks…) and brighten the eye contour area. They promise that the eyes look rested, more luminous and existing dark spots will be reduced. But again, in my opinion, results can (maybe) be seen after 4 weeks or so.

Vitamin C works to reduce under eye circles and pigmentation, while Peptides help boost the skin’s own collagen production and drain pigmentation deposits. Light-reflecting particles brighten the eye area for that rejuvenated, wide-eyed effect!

How to use

Apply on the eye contour in the morning and / or evening. I personally like to use my ring fingers to apply eye cream. Somewhere I have read that by using the ring fingers instead of the index fingers there is less pressure to the sensitive under eye skin. But in the end I guess it does not matter too much with which finger you apply your eye cream. As long as you apply eye cream regularly and the fingers are clean 😉

Composition

Ingredients of natural origin (with Porcelain Rose, White Crocus, stabilised Vitamin C, Star Lily and Cocoa Cells). Specific perfume tailored for the delicate eye contour area. Paraben free.

NUXE Merveillance Expert Fluide Correcting Fluid

Is an anti-ageing treatment for combination skin, which targets excess oil and enlarged pores as well as visible lines and wrinkles. This corrective care contains three key skin proteins which contribute to the youth of the skin: Vimentin, Collagen and Elastin. It contains also Daylily, and Mimosa of Constantinople, plant extracts which target these three proteins in order to fight effectively against the deep wrinkles and the loss of firmness of the skin.

Its light texture plumps and mattifies skin, correcting shine while tightening pores and refining the skin’s texture. Visible lines are smoothed, skin feels firmer and looks lifted and pores are tightened, all without drying skin or increasing oiliness. The ideal solution to rejuvenate combination skin.

How to use

Bio Beauté Express Mattifying Rebalancing Mask

Is a re-balancing mask specially formulated for the combination skin based of Cranberry extract. This re-balancing mask is formulated based of white clay that helps to unclog and tighten the pores, matify and purify the skin in a few minutes. It contains also a ” Probiotic-Like ” Botanical Complex of Cranberry Extract and Hyaluronic Acid which maintains the balance of the cutaneous flora to limit the appearance of imperfections.

How to use

Apply to face 1-2 times a week, on dry skin, for 5 minutes, then rinse off with water.

The original – eau de parfum Bottega Veneta

Tomas Maier, creative director of Bottega Veneta, presents the newest fragrance of the house, EAU SENSUELLE, a fresh and sensual version of the signature fragrance of Bottega Veneta.

The evening sun leaves a vivid pink tone on the opened windows and causes an intimate and sensual atmosphere. A young lady, surrounded by the rosa colored light is tanning on the balcony in a leather chair. Her sun kissed skin is shimmering softly and the fresh air lets her cheeks blush. Below her there is a peach tree moving in the wind, his fruity aroma blends with the floral bouquet of jasmine and gardenia. This sensual scent mix fills the surrounding and the moment lets you forget time.

The signature Eau de Parfum was the beginning of a homage to the Bottega Veneta fashion label, which captures complete Italian moments. The distinctive leathery Chypre scent serves the legacy of the brand, which is deep in Vicenza, the region Venice in the north east of Italy. The new fragrance EAU SENSUELLE

Five years later, the connection of art and nature with EAU SENSUELLE experience a prosecution. An advancement of the signature scent to a prominent, fruity- floral and leathery Chypre scent, which reminds of the softness and sensuality of the renowned Bottega Veneta leather goods. As a reinterpretation of the signature scent, it stands for an unexpected and soft side of feminity. A fresh peach scent as well as a luxurious suede leather accord give the intensive leathery floral Chypre scent a unique and cheerful turn.

Eau Sensuelle continues the collaboration with creative director Tomas Maier and the master perfumers Michel Almairac and Mylene Alran. The fruity floral and leathery Chypre scent opens with an elegant floral accord of gardenia and Indian jasmine mixed with soft peaches. UV 50 MINERAL – what is that?

yes, thats what we all need. we need to take better care of our skin. I am every year surprised to see so many of my friends with sun burnt skin. and with all the information that is out there I was hoping that everybody understood so far that the flaming ball in the sky that we call sun, can cause some serious damage, in most of the cases irreversible. UV rays and environmental pollutants cause the skin to be irritated. the skin tends to dry out, loses its luminosity and ages a lot faster.

what does the new UV 50 mineral with ection do?

against UVA / UVB radiation (without chemical filters )

I was really happy that I got one of the new UV 50 mineral to try, so for all of you that might wonder. yes, this is a sponsored post. 🙂 for a long time I did not need any SPF 50 here in Basel due to the weirdly cold weather in June. but now its the moment to apply it every day and I am so happy that finally the sun is back and that I also have found a great product to protect my skin.

I love the fact that it does not make my face white and that it is being absorbed very fast. as I am wearing my sunscreen underneath my foundation/ tinted day cream I dont want anything greasy or white 🙂 in case you have sensitive skin then this is something for you. I love it and have used it for the last couple of sunny days. my skin has not reacted with any breakout and thats always a very good sign.

with the UV 50 mineral I got 5 bands for a smart way to enjoy the sun. smart sun wristbands measure the amount of sun you are being exposed to during one day. it changes color to let you know when to apply more sunscreen or when to stay out of the sun.

works everywhere. changes color faster in strong sunlight. measures the total amount of sun during an entire day. measures both UVA and UVB radiation. can be used in water, even in saltwater and chlorinated water. should be used from sunup to sundown, both indoors and outdoors. when the wristband turns pink, the risk of burning is high and then avoid the sun completely. one wristband is one-day use only.

COS spring dresses

these are my lovely new COS spring dresses and they are perfect for the current weather situation in Basel, Switzerland. I got a navy one with a small collar and a beige one with V neck and they can be worn with skinny jeans or bare legs, with heels or sandals.

are you all ready for summer? I am so ready and at the moment making plans for our summer vacation somewhere in the south. I miss the beach and I know that after a week of beach and fun I can go back to work a lot more relaxed. I am def a beach person and I love swimming in the sea/ocean. if I had more time I would fancy I trip to California but for a week and a half thats just way too short for such a far trip. where do you go for your summer vacation? please let me know in the comments below – curious to see where you are all going.

as you can see in the photo above the dress is made out of two materials: silk and a very light kind of merino wool. I had so much fun wearing this beige dress on our short weekend trip to beautiful Cassis where C took all of these lovely photos.

beige and navy are two very elegant colors, especially in these two materials: silk and wool. when I spotted them inside COS Strasbourg I was so excited and knew that I am going to wear them a lot. the thing with beige dresses is that you need well fitted nude underwear and for my taste I always love to add a bit of color to the outfit, like my green vintage FENDI bag.

a cleansing conditioner for brilliant color protection

so far I have only tried the dry shampoo once and I indeed liked it. I can compare it to BATISTE and REDKEN dry shampoos that I have tried before. read more here >> I am still a huge fan of dry shampoos as they help me to not wash my hair too often. the great thing about this dry shampoo is that it does not turn white, which is awesome if you have dark hair like me. I am very curious to test the cleansing conditioner because I have never ever heard anything like that before. now lets see what they say it does:

it claims to clean and moisturize in one step
it protects the color and hair whilst cleaning
it contain lots of keratin, silk and tamanu oils

so as I understand this is a new version of a 2in1 shampoo and conditioner product that has been reduced to the conditoner. I like this way of thinking, first of all I have more space in the shower, second of all that means less trash and last but not least I save time.

as you can see, there are some new treatment products.the first two products can be applied to the ends of washed hair. and then there is also a dry shampoo from the color collection that prevents your hair color from fading. I am very excited to try the cleansing conditioner and am looking forward to using the dry shampoo tomorrow morning.

BEAUTY UPDATE

so these new buggers have all found their way to my mail box and are ready to be shared with all of you. some of the pieces I have already tried and some not. so lets start with the update:

M.A.C / brooke candy nailpolish / BLACK STALION
I have not had the time to use this nail polish yet but I absolutely love the color!
LE PETIT MARSEILLAIS / hypoallergenique shower cream / aloe vera / almond butter
since I am using soap bars in the shower I have not bought any bottled shower gels and thats why I have not tried it yet. as soon as I am out of all the soap bars that I have bought in Cassis, France, I will give this shower cream a try.
M.A.C / veluxe brow liner / dark brunette
a super awesome brow pencil. I was already a big fan of the M.A.C brow pencils before and can really see an improvment in that one. I either use it alone or with my benefit brow kit.
MUGLER / angel muse edT
thank you very much for sending me this new MUGLER fragrance. unfortunately this is not my cup of tea and I will find someone that I can give this to. are you interested? if so, please leave a comment below.
URIAGE / moisturizing lipstick
for all the people with chaped lips, this is another great product to use on a daily base. I am a huge fan of the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour stick and the Clarins oil balms and with this moisturizing stick by URIAGE I have found another favorite.
URIAGE / gentle cleansing syndet
I did not have the time to try this gentle cleansing lotion yet. it says that it can be used for face and body and therefore in the future it will be in my shower. at the moment I am cleansing my face with either the LUBEX anti-age cleansing milk or with cleansing oils by either CLINIQUE or L’Occitane. as soon as I am out of these buggers I will give it a try. or in case that I am only using it for the body I will start using it after the LE PETIT MARSEILLAIS shower cream.
AESOP / herbal deodorant
I did not try this new aluminum free deodorant yet. so I can not really say much about it other than telling you about its ingredients: sage leaf, zinc, ricinoleate and which hazel.
M.A.C / pro longwear waterproof colour stick / madly sunny
I have not had the time to play with this bright eye color stick. absolutely love the color and will for sure have lots of fun with this at the beach as it is waterproof.
L’OCCITANE / sublime repairing oil
I have not tried this repairing hair oil yet but I can not wait to. the thing is that eventhough I am using hair oils after every hair wash (about two times a week) they still last quiet a while. at the moment I have the following oils in my bathroom: REDKEN diamond blow dry oil, KERASTASE chronologiste and the KERASTASE elixir ultime. as soon as I am done with all of these oils I will give this sublime oil a try.

Tame Frizz by KMS California

KMS California came out with something new and it took me quiet a while to finally write about it, so for me they are new but actually they are already out for a while. frizzy hair? I guess a lot of ladies can answer this with a simple YES. so I am sure that you will be happy to hear more about these new buggers:

TAME FRIZZ and HAIR STAY

thats the name of the line and I got to try the de frizz oil, the shampoo and the HAIR STAY maximum hold spray. my hair can be frizzy, especially when it rains a lot and the air is humid. also when I leave my hair air dry my roots can get really frizzy, so when I got the parcel I was very excited and had high expectations. now lets see what they say they do:

de-frizz oil / 100ml
it claims to control frizz and humidity for up to 3 days.
its a lightweight feel, non-greasy oil that instantly is being absorbed instantly. it is humidity resistance and provides heat protection. it is very easy to use, just work through towel-dried hair and style as usual. you can also use it on dry hair to further reduce frizz. this is another great hair oil. as you may know I have already tried lots of different oils (KERASTASE, REDKEN, THE BODY SHOP etc..) and it has become a regimen for me to always apply some drops of oil to my damp hair before blow drying it.

tame frizz shampoo / 300ml
it claims to prepare for frizz reduction and smoothes the hair surface. lather,
rinse. repeat if necessary. mmhhmm, it smells devine. so far I really see a difference when washing my hair with this shampoo. my hair roots are not frizzy and I dont have to add a ton of cream or oil to control the frizz. thumbs up for this bugger!

maximum hold spray / 245 g
it claims to give a firm hold and to be humidity resistant. it has an instant ultra-firm finishing and shine effect up to 24-hour. how to use, like every other hair spray, keep a distance of 25-30 cm from dry hair.

after a very nice welcome I was served a cold glass of water and was ready for the presentation. we quickly talked about the different lines and their benefits and then she started to ask me questions about my skin and recommended some products:

wow, these are the new SENSAI SILKY DESIGN ROUGE lipsticks! great colors and a creamy finish, exactly the things that I want from a lipstick. there are different red and they claim that there is a red for every woman. I love wearing red lips and now I got 6 more red lipsticks. below you can see the swatches and I gotta say that some of the colors are a bit too similar. I really like the first, third and last color and will need to find the right moment for the others to wear.

the colors lasted for quiet a while on my lips and felt really comfortable. it was very easy to apply them and I really like the silky finish. thank you so much for letting me try these and write about them before they are out. <3 as I read in the press kit this collection will be out by APRIL 2016. I am sure you will see me wearing these new red lipsticks on my blog and social media channels. I am curious to know which one is your favorite color. X

these are my lovely new COS spring dresses and they are perfect for the current weather situation in Basel, Switzerland. I got a navy one with a small collar and a beige one with V neck and they can be worn with skinny jeans or bare legs, with heels or sandals.

as you can see in the photo above the dress is made out of two materials: silk and a very light kind of merino wool. I had so much fun wearing this beige dress on our short weekend trip to beautiful Cassis where C took all of these lovely photos.

URIAGE / moisturizing lipstick for all the people with chaped lips, this is another great product to use on a daily base. I am a huge fan of the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour stick and the Clarins oil balms and with this moisturizing stick by URIAGE I have found another favorite.

AESOP / herbal deodorant I did not try this new aluminum free deodorant yet. so I can not really say much about it other than telling you about its ingredients: sage leaf, zinc, ricinoleate and which hazel.
