COS spring dresses

these are my lovely new COS spring dresses and they are perfect for the current weather situation in Basel, Switzerland. I got a navy one with a small collar and a beige one with V neck and they can be worn with skinny jeans or bare legs, with heels or sandals.

are you all ready for summer? I am so ready and at the moment making plans for our summer vacation somewhere in the south. I miss the beach and I know that after a week of beach and fun I can go back to work a lot more relaxed. I am def a beach person and I love swimming in the sea/ocean. if I had more time I would fancy I trip to California but for a week and a half thats just way too short for such a far trip. where do you go for your summer vacation? please let me know in the comments below – curious to see where you are all going.

as you can see in the photo above the dress is made out of two materials: silk and a very light kind of merino wool. I had so much fun wearing this beige dress on our short weekend trip to beautiful Cassis where C took all of these lovely photos.

beige and navy are two very elegant colors, especially in these two materials: silk and wool. when I spotted them inside COS Strasbourg I was so excited and knew that I am going to wear them a lot. the thing with beige dresses is that you need well fitted nude underwear and for my taste I always love to add a bit of color to the outfit, like my green vintage FENDI bag.

I am already more than 3 weeks back from vacation and I totally forgot to tell you what makeUp I took with me to Castellammare del Golfo in Sicily. So now I finally found time and here we go:

I took 5 different eyeshadows and a blusher by ARTDECO and I put them in a MAC palette. all the ARTDECO powder products like blusher and eyeshadows have a tiny magnet on the back so they are made to be stored in a palette. perfect for vacation as you can put together your individual palette. in general in summer or in summer vacation I am not applying MakeUp every day but in the evening after a long day on the beach it is nice to pamper oneself and wear a nice dress and go for dinner. well thats what I did. I was only wearing the makeUp in the evening as it was way too hot to wear makeUp during the day..

16 EYESHADOW
a sparkly pale brown

a matte stale blue

a warm matte dark mauve

a nice warm almost pan of terracota

so as you can see out of the 5 eyeshadows 4 of them are matte and only one has shimmer.I either wore a simple look or a more smokey look.

SIMPLE LOOK
I start with 551 all over the lid and highlight the parts below the brows. 16 in the crease.

SMOKEY LOOK
551 all over the lid and highlight the parts below the brow and the inner corner of the eyes. then I take 506 and cutting the crease. and using 517 and 520 to blend it towards the eyelid.

awesome pigmentation and no fall out thats exactly what I want from eyeshadows – I will for sure get more of these in order to have more shimmery shadows too. will keep you posted.

where can you get these ARTDECO products? I found mine at parfumcity.ch they have awesome deals and since it is a swiss online shop you dont have to pay any extra charges from the customs. ARTDECO is a german brand and is based in Karlsfeld Germany.

today is the first day of our trip to SICILY and of course I have also brought this top/dress to wear during the vacation – I try to take some really nice sicilian photos in castellammare del golfo. until then stay tuned for something nice tomorrow. X

thank you ROBERTO CAVALLI I finally found a fragrance of yours that I really like. I dont know if that is just me but all the CAVALLI fragrances before were too sweet and fruity for me. BUT this one has the right amount of freshness that I seek in a perfume. I am not really great with describing scents so I think the best thing to do is go to the next shop like MANOR or GLOBUS and check it out for yourself. I am now enjoying the beautiful sun and I am almost feeling like I am inside the PARADISO.

where to stay in VENICE ITALY?

I can highly recommend to stay at the Molino Stucky Hilton on Giudecca Island. It is very easy to access and it is only a couple of stops away from the trainstation. there is a shuttle boat that takes u to the other side of the Giudecca Canal – Zattere is the stop called. I can not believe that already so much time has passed since I was staying at the lovely Hilton Hotel in Venice.. sigh! it really was a blast. unfortunately we had to leave our awesome ride – the Alfa Romeo Giulietta – at the Airport as Venice is a car-free city!

there is a fancy rooftop pool with a bar and there is a quiet nice SPA and fitness area – although I didnt have time to get any treatments but of course I had to check out the rooftop pool. that is absolutely awesome! from up there the view over Venice is priceless!

the room was sooo pretty – it faced the Giudecca Canal and also from there (fifth floor) I had an amazing view over Venice! thank you very much for the welcome bag! I enjoyed the cookies – mmmhhmm! and of course there had to be a MURANO chandelier in the room 🙂 how lovely!

VICENZA – Hotel TIEPOLO

on the way from Basel to Venice we stopped in Vicenza and spent the night in the 4 star Hotel Tiepolo a bit outside of the city center. our room was in the topfloor (8°) and therefore we had an amazing view over the city. the hotel room was average standard but what I liked best about it was that it had a bathtub! I somehow love hotel rooms with bathtubs – it makes me feel like at home 🙂 the hotel has its own restaurant but unfortunately it was out of order the night we were there. I heard that it is a very good place for conferences and workshops as the hotel has its own conference rooms for about 700 people. what else can I tell you about the HOTEL TIEPOLO in Vicenza, it has free wifi, a flat screen tv, a mini bar, a trouserpress and A/C.

breakfast was included and they serve bread, croissants, coffee, tea, fruits, jam, orange juice and more! – the usual hotel breakfast buffet.

the alfa romeo giulietta was such a nice ride and it took us safely to VERONA – VICENZA and VENICE. it was a blast!

I am now going thru all the photos and emails that I missed in the last ten days and will get back to you as soon as possible. I took some really nice pictures: a piece from the ESPRIT fall collection and 2 pieces from GASSMANN and gave them an italian interpretation. I can not wait to share it with you! xx

At this very moment I am packing my suitcase and I want to bring way more than I would actually need – like always! I really dont like packing suitcases as I find it is so hard to make decisions about what to wear in advance other than that very morning in the shower before I get dressed! SUMMER holiday!

I am planning my roadtrip to Venice, Italy with help of my lovely filofax THE ORIGINAL. On the way from Basel to Venice C and I are going to stop in Verona and Vicenza. We are going to Venice for the Architecture Biennale where we are invited to the opening of excavating by Khaled Malas. At the moment I am looking for a complimentary hotelroom to stay a day each in Verona and Vicenza. Let me know if you have a good blogger Hotel or any other good ideas. sharing is caring, right?
