the sun is out and thats the time where we should think about SPF – do you use SPF? I can highly recommend to do so. the sun is very powerful and can cause serious damage to your skin.. yeah, I know.. I am sure you have heard that somewhere before 🙂 anyway, I want to show you what I use at the moment in order to keep my skin protected from UV A and UV B rays.

LANCASTER Sun Control Fluid SPF 50
Thats what I start with, thats my base in spring and summer. It is a very light fluid and very easy to apply all over my face and neck. I already introduced this product here >>

CLINIQUE superdefense SPF 20
As a second step I use my daily moisturizer. It already has an average SPF but not enough for my sensitive skin and my couperose parts on my cheeks. here you can read my opinion about the Clinique Superdefense – I did a test with Jaswant and we are both still using them.  >>

ESTEE LAUDER CC Cream SPF 10
I think this is enough coverage for me in spring and summer. Its perfect to even out my skintone and leaves a nice glow. read more about this CC Cream here >>

so after these steps I curl my eyelashes, I apply Bronzer and lipstick and I am ready for the day!

something new! my friend Sara is testing the Gel Radieux for I SAW SOMETHING NICE. She has normal skin with dry patches and likes creams that are not too heavy – so the gel texture is perfect for her. I prefere a creamier texture and thats why I started using the Crème Radieuse. so far we both like the Gel and Crème. Its easy to apply and it works great with Foundation and BB Creams. The organic Angelica Seed Extract keeps your skin moisturized for 24 h (Gel) to 48 h (Crème)!

SPF 50 yes, I am not kidding. We all have to be careful with our skin! Some of you may say: but then you will not get tanned.. hmm, I will get my tan for sure, also with SPF 50, but I will also make sure that my skin still looks lovely when I am 40+

this weekend was the first time I have used these products as it finally was sunny again in Basel, Switzerland. On Saturday and Sunday I applied the  #Anti-Ageing & Dark Spots Sun Sensitive Skin Uniform Tan Milk SPF50 to my arms and legs. It smells soooo good! Since years I am using the LANCASTER sun products and I m so attached to its smell. when I smell my skin it brings back my summerholiday memories from sunny California or beautiful Barcelona. It just instantly brings me into a happy summermood! my skin is very pale compared to how tanned I am in summer so I am thinking about trying the LANCASTER self tanning products. I will keep you updated about that. 🙂 so now back to the SUN CONTROL products. On Saturday I applied the #Anti-Wrinkles & Dark Spots Sun Sensitive Skin Radiant Glow Cream SPF50+ to my face and neck – the skin absorbs the cream really fast and it leaves a beautiful glow. Yesterday, Saturday I used the #Anti-Wrinkles & Dark Spots Sun Sensitive Skin Radiant Glow Fluid SPF50 allover my face and neck – and this will be my go-to Sun Screen for this Spring/Summer. I love the texture, its light and easy to apply under my foundation or BB Cream. As soon as my face is a bit tanned I dont wear foundation too often. I prefer to wear something lighter like a BB or CC Cream or sometimes I just use a bit of Bronzer and thats it! So I have to say that I am really happy with the results of these products. my favorites are the #Anti-Ageing & Dark Spots Sun Sensitive Skin Uniform Tan Milk SPF50 and #Anti-Wrinkles & Dark Spots Sun Sensitive Skin Radiant Glow Fluid SPF50 – I would definitely repurchase these two products!

tips and tricks!
I prefer to apply the sunscreen (body) before I get dressed, like this I make sure that none of the products gets on my clothes and I am also sure that the Sunscreen got absorbed by my skin before exposed to sunlight. I apply the Sunscreen (face) before my moisturizer. I read an interresting article on howstuffworks (link) and I came to the conclusion that it actually doesnt matter in which order you apply the moisturizer and sunscreen, as long as you use both.

RODIAL

RODIAL – my first experience with RODIAL products.

In the goodiebag of the L’OFFICIEL Schweiz launch party there was this SUPER ACIDS X-treme hangover mask by RODIAL. I have never ever used their products and I had to google the brand. RODIAL is a London based and was founded 1999 by Maria Hatzistefanis.
so anyway, I was curious enough to give this little green bugger a try. When I had dinner with my BF last night I just suggested to watch a movie later and put on this new clay mask. I was expecting nothing other but a big huge: “NO F****** WAY”.. but to my biggest surprise I heard: SURE, why not.

ooh, wow, that was a surprise! so we did it. we washed our faces and applied the SUPER ACIDS X-treme hangover mask by RODIAL and waited for it to be dry in order to scrub it off our faces. After 15 minutes the mask was dry and we removed it. I took some super funny photos of us with the face mask but I am not allowed to show you the photos 🙂 I guess it was enough for him that he was willing to try the mask!

so how was it?
It tingles and burns a bit when applying, so I think its nothing for very sensitive skin. As I have couperose on my cheeks with very sensitive skin I didnt apply any mask on my cheeks but still I had a burning feeling on my skin. The mask contains 75 ml and I am sure it will last for another 3 to 5 masks. But I am not sure if I will ever use this mask again as it is very strong and I think its too much acid for my sensitive dry skin. I will stick to my creamy masks that I have loved and used before. (eg. Sislyey Paris, Ananné..) so to sum it up, this mask is something for rather oily skin and nothing for sensitive skin.

ladies, spring is about to be here and Estée Lauder presents some really awesome new products. I was invited to the press lunch in Basel and had the opportunity to get all the products explained and introduced. we all got a booklet with the latest products and a lot of interesting tips!

#1 Sumptuous Infinite daring length and volume Mascara
Some of you may know that I am not a Mascara Fan at all 🙂 I hardly ever use Mascara.. But still I am always craving new things and I am one of these person who loves to try out new things. So of course I gave this Mascara a try and I have to say it does what it promises. It made my lashes look longer and made them dense and I really liked the shape of the brush.

#2 Revitalizing Supreme CC Creme
A new anti-aging CC Creme – which adapts to your skin color and gets slightly tinted. the Cream should be applied as the last step after the moisturizer and inbetween foundation. I wear the CC Creme on Sundays and I just wear it on top of my moisturizer and it makes my skin look very even and it reduces the redness on my cheeks.

#3 ReNutriv Ultimate Contouring Eye lift
I cant wait for summer.. this will be my best friend in summer! The new ReNutriv Eye Lift Creme has an amazing applicator out of ceramic which always stays cool. No matter if you have it in your purse or in your room it stays the same temperature. its like magic! I use it without creme and start from the inner part sliding outwards underneath my eyes, I repeat this 3 times per eye after that I apply the creme with the same move. I have been using it for the last couple of weeks and I really see a difference in my skin around my eyes – YAY!

#4 Pure Color Envy Lipstick
Bright lips, I am so ready for the spring summer colors of 2014.
20 different intense moisturizing color shades for bright lustrous lips!

#5 Modern Muse
Modern Muse – I love the name of the newest Estée Lauder fragrance.
The fragrance has a very elegant and soft note and became one of my favorite fragrances. I wouldnt say its a fresh scent but still it makes me feel very fresh and clean. I took it to London for the fashionweek and whenever I travel short distances with small luggage I limit myself to bring only one parfum and allow myself to buy one in the dutyfree 🙂 so this time I didnt find a suiting parfum on my way to london so this meant I had to use the same parfum everyday for one week 🙂 and I loved it!! on the way back I found something nice, something we dont have in switzerland, but I will tell you in another post. stay tuned. I can highly recommend to visit your local parfum shop and try the Modern Muse fragrance – I am sure you will love it too.

#6 Pure Color Nailpolish
Not only bright lips but also bright nails – the new Pure Color Nailpolishes are really nice. I wore it for several days and it didnt chip. But I also used the top coat from Estée Lauder so I cant tell you if it would chip or not if wearing it without top coat. I will try it and will let you know.

this month it will be all about BEAUTY PRODUCT BESTSELLERS previously I have showed you the Bestellers of L’Occitane and The Body Shop , M.A.C  and today I will show you 2 of the Estée Lauder Bestseller products.

an alltime favourite of my mom, #1 Advanced Night Repair. She has been using this for at least 6 or more years and I can really see the effect it has to her skin. so when I read that Advanced Night Repair is among the bestselling products of Estée Lauder it really made me curious and I had to try it out myself. let me tell you, this is a magic product that will smoothen and soften your skin while you are asleep – not only smooth and soft it makes you look very fresh! #2 Double Wear foundation – aww.. this is one of my favourite foundations, it stays in place and leaves a nice finish. I apply it either with a foundation brush or with my fingers. the only thing I would change about this product is the design. I really miss a dispenser. the bottle opens with a lid and has no pumpsystem or so – therefore I think its not the easiest foundation for on the way.

this month it will be all about BEAUTY PRODUCT BESTSELLERS previously I have showed you the Bestellers of L’Occitane and The Body Shop and today I am going to show you the Bestsellers of M.A.C cosmeticsc.

red lips, I looove red lips, ergo I also love red lipsticks and my favourite red lipstick is one of the Besteller products by M.A.C – #1 “Ruby Woo” lipstick – a wonderful matte red. My third step of my skin routine in the morning is to apply primer, of course not every day but when I ll be out all day or if I have a photoshooting I use the #2 Prep & Prime Natural Radiance Base Visage – it makes my skin very even and leaves a perfect base for my foundation. After applying foundation I use concealer around my nose and on the red parts of my cheeks (couperose) – #3 Mineralize Concealer is the bestselling concealer by M.A.C and I can only use it around my cheeks and nose as it is too dry for under my eyes. I tried it several times but it always leaves very thin dry lines around my eyes.. and ofcourse I dont like that 🙂 so if you have rather oily skin around your eyes I would totally recommend this concealer. aaaww, the #4 Mineralize Rich lipstick in the shade “All Out Gorgeous” is sooo pretty!! I can not get enough of this color. As many of you might know I am a huge fan of bright lips so I totally agree with all the other ladies who make this product a bestseller.  Do you use powder foundation? #5 Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation will be your favourite, I am sure about that. Personally I prefere to use liquid foundation as I dont like a too matte powdery finish on my dry skin. but I love to use it to set my bright lipsticks. An all time favourite of mine is the #6 Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder. I use it every day to set my foundation.

Its FEBRUARY and this month I will focus on “mostawarded and bestseller products” from different brands that I love. I start with the BESTSELLERS of The Body Shop. check what sells best and see what I think about the products here:

awww.. the #1 SHEA BUTTER SHOWER CREAM makes my skin super soft and I hardly need any additional moisturizer after showering with this. as I have very dry skin I need an extra layer of cream on my ellbows, feet and knees. thats when Bestseller #3 HONEYMANIA BODY BUTTER comes in handy – I loove the smell – it leaves my skin moisturized thruout the day. If I have a spot I use #2 TEA TREE OIL directly on my skin to dry out my spot and make it disappear within a day! For a regular day where I am not in front of the camera I often use BB Creams or Foundation with medium to ligth coverage. The #4 ALL-IN-ONE BB CREAM is a color adapting tinted cream and it leaves a glowy and dewy finish. They come in 4 different shades. I have 01 but I think it is a bit too light for me – even in winter 🙂 but I can still use it – I wear it with a bronzing powder or blush.

CLINIQUE superdefense SPF 20

After using the cream for a full week I can tell for sure that my skin reacts well and no irritations appeared. After applying superdefense and having a few sips of my morning tea I was able to apply my foundation right away.

I use the luminous silk foundation by Georgio Armani. This has light coverage and not a matt but glowy finish. I use a highlighter on the check bones, fluid sheer by Georgio Armani. Together with the Superdefense cream I found the result to be stunning. It gave me an overall healthy looking glow, you get after a restfull vacation.

The cream definately keeps my skin hydrated through the whole day. I never felt any drynes or tight feeling when exposed to dry office air. Before using other creams I could see lines in various areas caused by dry air at the end of the day. Several people around me noticed the improvement of my skin, and said how good and healthy I looked.

As the cream is very nurturing I don’t need a lot and can say that it will last for at least 6-8 weeks. Therefore I think it is worth to buy, and I’m waiting to see the result on my skin after a month.

My skin reacted quiet well to the superdefense SPF 20. Usually I get irritations and redness very easily but I really didnt have any problems yet. I have been using the cream for one week now and I didnt get any blemishes from the cream.

When I first used the cream with the M.A.C Face and Body Foundation my skin felt very dewy and I had to wait for quiet a moment in between.
But then I started to use a primer, M.A.C Prep and Prime, before applying the foundation and then I didnt have any issues with too dewy and shiny skin.

The cream does keep my skin hydrated during the the whole day.
I have very dry parts on my forhead, around my nose and chin and the cream really helped to hydrate my skin.

I only use a little amount every day because the cream is very rich and when you use too much it will make you look very shiny.
The 50 ml will last me for at least 8 weeks if not longer as I only use it during the day. The superdefense SPF 20 costs 72 CHF which is not cheap and I have to use the cream for a little bit longer in order to see if the cream is really worth it.

HAND CREAM

well, well, I do buy a lot of hand creams but infact I hardly ever use them and then I complain that my hands are not soft enough – pfff!
thats about to not happen anymore as I really try to carry one of these hand creams above in every single bag that I take with me in order to use more hand cream!

“first of all, the texture is really light and makes the cream easy to apply. the cream absorbs immediately, so I was able to apply my foundation right away, making this cream a perfect base, as my make up lasted longer than before. after applying I noticed a general firming effect, which lasted all day. during long and intense days at work, with occasional stressful moments, I never felt any dryness or lines appear. I never felt greasy, shiny or my make up fading away through sweating. Also the spots I noticed at night sometimes were limited to only one. so far I would say this is the perfect cream for me at the moment.”

“I started to use the cream last sunday morning and I really like the consistency and texture of the cream. the fact that the cream has SPF 20 is amazing because we all know how important it is to protect the skin from the UVA and UVB rays. superdefense SPF 20 is very creamy but not too heavy, super nice and easy to apply and it leaves a very soft base. I think its very important not to use too much cream because it easily makes the skin look too shiny. I had to wait a few minutes before I could apply my foundation in order to let the cream set and dry. I applied my M.A.C face and body foundation (light coverage) and it worked well with the cream. it leaves a dewy finish even after applying my foundation and after setting my foundation with powder. my skin is always behaving cray cray during this one special lady moment of each month and therefore its hard for me to say whether the blemishes are caused by the cream or not. I will for sure continue to use the cream for a week and will then answer the questions we have set in the first blogpost and I will be able to give a better review about the clinique superdefense SPF 20.”

ladies and gentlemen I can highly recommend this little wonder product by KIEHLS. I used it every other night for the last 2 months and I have never ever experienced such an amazing change of my skin before! let me tell you something about my daily skin routine

I have very sensitive skin and couperose parts on my cheeks which make me look very healthy. I was in need of a new cleanser and cream and strolled thru Manor in Basel looking for something new. And then I stopped at the KIEHLS booth and was introduced to their line for sensitive skin. CANTELLA SKIN CALMING FACIAL CLEANSER and CANTELLA RECOVERY SKIN SALVE – because I am always so curious about everything I had to buy them and see what they would do to my skin.

so I went home and tried it and really like the effect it had to my irritated redish skin. and after a couple of weeks I used the last drops of my LANCOME toner and went back to the Manor KIEHLS booth in order to check whether they have a suiting toner for me – and they did – CALENDULA HERBAL EXTRACT TONER alcohol free. my regimen for day and night

I clean my face with the CANTELLA SKIN CALMING FACIAL CLEANSER either with water or with a damp washcloths afterwards I use the CALENDULA HERBAL EXTRACT TONER with a cotton pad and then use the CANTELLA RECOVERY SKIN SALVE or the SKIN RESCUER STRESS MINIMIZING DAILY HYDRATOR – I do that day and night – and every second night I use the OVER NIGHT BIOLOGICAL PEEL.
the products really even out my skin tone and the peeling also reduces the size of my pores – I am super happy with KIEHLS.

what do I want to check next? the MIDNIGHT RECOVERY CONCENTRATE – I only heard good things about it and will give it a try!
