today I started my day with a journey back in time – I went thru 2014 and was thinking about the mile stones of that very year. so many nice things happened and many sad things too. as you guys know me I am more likely to share nice things.

so let’s go back in time – to the #zalandosummerhouse and dream about my pretty green silk TIBI dress a heck of a dress! Once you wear it you know that you are ready – ready for the day or night.

when putting together a wardrobe it is very important to have versatile clothes – the same clothes for day and night to dress up and down. LIFE update!

fall is here and I am getting my wardrobe for the season together. something that I really love, shopping and mixing and matching new things with older stuff. I had such a good time lately and was invited to soo many nice places and was able to do so many awesome things. thank you life for bringing nice things my way! I have had a rough start into the year. some of you may know already. I was in the hospital over christmas 2013 because I have lost my sense of taste. anyway, after weeks of high dosed cortison I was able to taste something again but also had to deal with a rather negative diagnose: MS – multiple sclerosis! first reaction shock – wtf! I have just arranged to start my own business with my blog and I have already cancelled my job at Herzog & de Meuron that time. was that the biggest mistake ever? well it turns out NO it was not a mistake to quit my job and start my own business because like this I can work according to me and my personal situation. I have hired a personal trainer in order to keep my muscles fit and healthy. I will soon introduce you to my trainer and the exercices we do. in the photos above you can see me running in the rain and I hope I will be able to do that for a very very long time! stay positive and wish me lots of positive things. a positive mind can fight many challenges and one of them is my personal fight against my own disease!

THE MIRROR FACE

we all have one as we all do it – we all check ourselves in the mirror – whether to check the makeup or our outfit. over the last couple of years I have been paying attention to the different mirror faces of my friends or girls that I saw applying makeup in public transport or inside shops – I really enjoyed this research! at the zalando summerhouse there were many beautiful mirrors and my blogger friend Michèle from the fashionfraction blog took some funny photos of me checking my hat and makeup in the mirror. my mirror face is a bit like a duck/selfie face 🙂 and I think the first photo shows it very well. btw, this is also the gorgeous summer hat I was making at the zalandosummerhouse DYI workshop – isnt it gorgeous? in that picture I am wearing the GANNI blouse that I absolutely fell in love with – a simple floral keypiece to wear all year around – yes, here in Switzerland for sure!

Zalando Summer House 2014

This year 22 international fashion bloggers were invited to the Zalando Summer House (#zalandosummerhouse). From the 28th until the 30th of August 2014, they stayed at the wonderful castle- Schloss Herzfelde in the Uckermark an hour north of Berlin. Inspired by ‘La Dolce Vita’ of the 1950s the house was decorated with candy coloured furniture, contained a café with an Italian barista, a big garden with retro games and DIY stations that gave the bloggers time to relax, be creative and enjoy the good life.

again I will tell you a bit about the zalandosummerhouse. we arrived thursday night and were arriving with this old beautiful omnibus. the next day started with yoga in the garden. there were different workshops to attend like the mint&berry streetstyle workshop, the make your own flower bouquet and the make your own summerhat workshop. unfortunately that very day the weather was not as good as it was the day before but we made the best out of it. Michèle from fashionfraction Blog took some funny photos where I am running in the rain. they will be soon on the blog.

the castle herzfelde and its surrounding is such a beautiful place. endless lawns of green, greenhouses, fields, trees that were shaped in cubes. I was thinking a lot about Alice in Wonderland. the park around the castle had several places that reminded me of the story. here you can read more about my time at the #zalandosummerhouse – enjoy! xx

SCHLOSS HERZFELDE / CASTLE HERZFELDE (D)

it was so nice to stay two days in the countryside at the beautiful castle HERZFELDE and spend some time in the nature. I loved wearing my new GANNI blouse and my selfmade summer hat and strolling thru the fields. the blouse is an amazing keypiece for floral outfits. I can pair it with highwaist shorts, jeans or a skirt – everything goes!

#zalandosummerhouse

the zalando summerhouse was a blast, I can not say it often enough: it really was a blast. I met lovely bloggerfriends and was able to relax the entire weekend in a lovely castle called HERZFELDE in the beautiful nowhere of Brandenburg, Germany. #lorealparisde was in charge of hair and makeup and I chose the brow focused look and a simple hairstyle. Actually there were 3 hairstyles to choose from but seriously I didnt like any of them and I guess my hair must have been a lot longer for the planned hair do’s. big hair was the theme and lots of backcombing teasing and lots of hairspray, all of these things are not really my cup of tea 🙂 anyway, I was happy that I was able to straighten my hair and wear the lovely brow focused makeup. I will soon show you pictures of my complete look, stay tuned!

I looooove silver things and when I saw this BCBG skirt at TJmax in the states I had to have it 🙂 and ever since I have worn it many times in different ways. the great thing about shiny things in general is that they work very well with black and white.

I am having an awesome time! thank you zalando for having me here.

tomorrow I will start the day with YOGA in the garden (hopefully the weather will be nice) and then I can attend several workshops but what I am looking forward to the most is taking photos in this beautiful location – CASTLE HERZFELDE!

I arrived at the zalando summerhouse location today – wow! what a beautiful castle! I am looking forward to a wonderful weekend and meeting lots of nice people. we had such a cool ride – an old omnibus and had a lovely BBQ in the garden! more photos to come!
