my phone is the BEST – not kidding!

my phone is the BEST – not kidding 🙂
a couple of months ago I ditched my iphone and started using this awesome new SONY smartphone – more info about it here << and ever since I have started to use the new phone to capture event pictures I was able to leave my big heavy CANON EOS camera at home. this morning I was playing with the camera and took these lovely photos.

so let me quickly tell you the PRO’s of this new phone: 1. the battery lasts for almost 2 DAYS – thats a big or lets say HUGE bonus compared to my iphone. 2. waterproof – the case is waterproof and can be taken for a swim – before doing that read the instructions that come with the phone. 3. I can upload all my things to my phone _ I have almost toal freedom about my files and music – I can mirror my desktop computer on my phone and work from the go! 4. the brain of the phone is super quick and lets me work in a neat speed. 5. the camera – it has 20.7 MP camera and the option to record 4K movies – there is a time lapse option and many other fancy adjustments for the camera. 6. the color range of the phones – I am so happy with my TIFFANY & CO green phone!

my phone is the BEST - not kidding!

the only CON that I could name is that I had to redownload all the apps and some of them didnt have an android version so I had to search for a dupe. other than that I am very pleased with my new phone!

what phone are you using? do you like the iphone 6? let me know. X

parenti’s cashmere

the spring/summer collection by Parenti’s is out and there are lots of nice cashmere, silk and cashmere/cotton mix pieces with a super awesome lookbook. above you can see some lovely photos of the models wearing an elegant and comfy mix of the collection.

my favorite piece is this one:

parentis cashmere

aaww – I can totally see myself wearing this maxi dress on a windy summer evening together with my favorite sandals and a washed out jeans jacket! aaah I can not wait for the warm days to arrive! in the photo the model is also wearing the pants but for me that would be a bit too much cashmere for summer!

FOR THE BASEL PEOPLE
there is a showroom at St.Alban-Vorstadt 68 A
where you can have a look at the collection and order your desired color and size. you might wonder how this work? so let me explain you the business model: Sabine Parenti launches a collection twice a year: spring/summer and fall/winter. for every collection she chooses about ten different colors and all the pieces are more or less available in these colors. so for example the ribbed cashmere dress that you see in beige above can be ordered in a bright orange a dull green or many other colors.

a super basic but maybe just for swiss spring and summer is the college V neck sweater that you can see here in off-white – but I would totally wear this all year around.

parentis cashmere

so I hope I was showing you something nice and have a look at the collection here: http://www.parentis-cashmere.com there are lots of other nice pieces and different colors!

OUTFIT INSPIRATION

so these are some of the outfits that I have been wearing so far this year. and when I was scrolling thru my blog I figured that I could actually collect some of the looks into collages and show them on the blog – thats a first!

here you can find all the outfits from the past:

Have a wonderful weekend – I will prepare some more outfits for next week. X

todays outfit

big chunky boots – I love it and I am totally aware that this is not everyones cup of tea. I found these on SALE last year and I can not remember where I have found them and there is no label in or outside the shoes. a combination that always works for me is black and red – they go very nicely together and complement eachother.

another thing is wearing too many accessories and this is actually hardly ever gonna happen to me as I barely wear too much jewelry or any jewelry at all. so in fact this is something to work on – wearing a bit more accessories 🙂 but when I am wearing such chunky red boots I feel that it would be too much for an every day outfit.

tights FALKE

PARIS STREET STYLE a guide to effortless chic

one of my favorite books regarding fashion and style is the one above in the photo. and it shows many nice key pieces for the perfect style. this very morning I was browsing thru this book and it made me think about these pieces: my beloved VALENTINO sandals – the lovely rose lipstick by ESTÉE LAUDER – the sweet scent LOVESTORY by CHLOÉ and golden hoops.

now I wanna answer some fashion questions:
#1 what are key pieces?
these are clothes that can be worn in many different ways and always remain timeless. a good navy or black blazer – a nice white blouse – a skinny jeans – black or brown chelsea boots – a beige trench coat – white sneakers – black flats etc.

#2 are there any no-go in fashion?
hmm, thats a tough question as for me almost everything goes and hardly anything is impossible. personally I dont like to mix black and brown and navy and black – but thats just me 🙂 but on the other hand I love to mix and match with colors and patterns. back in the days it was also not so cool to mix red and pink but thats also something that works perfectly for me. another thing I wanna share is that when I am wearing a short skirt I am always wearing a rather simple top with it and when I wear a nice cleavage shirt I try not to wear it with shorts but with a nice pants instead.

#3 whats my go-to look for a business day?
atm this would be a pencil skirt with a cashmere sweater, ankle boots and an oversized coat. in case you need inspiration check my outfits from 2011 2012 2013 and 2014 or check my polyvore page.

something new and nice!

Lubex anti – age hydration oil – developed by leading swiss dermatologists and tested and produced in therwil, switzerland in fact just a couple of kilometers away from my home. so why am I showing you this? first of all because it is something for sensitive skin – something I am dealing with and secondly because I wanted to test this product.

FOREVER YOUNG – I WANT TO BE FOREVER YOUNG <3 so let me start, as I already told you it is perfect for sensitive skin but there are other very nice benefits – something that impresses me a lot!

no preservatives, no paraben, no colorants, no paraffin oil, no formaldehyde and no animal testing

Lubex belongs to the family enterprise permamed and with every anti-age product you purchase they support the swiss cancer league with 1 CHF.

the anti-age hydration oil consists mainly of three oils: KAHAI oil (tightens the skin and reduces wrinkles) – BRAZIL NUT oil (nourishes, hydrates, and smoothes the skin) and BLACK ORCHID extract (contains flavonoids, antioxidant protection against free radicals, soothes and regenerates the skin effectively).

I started to use this product eleven days ago. how to apply you ask? well, its super easy, the product has a lovely dropping glass and I use about 3 drops for my face, neck and décolleté. so lets get started, I wash my face and keep my skin damp then I warm the drops in my palms and apply the warm oil with very light pressure. it depends on how dry your skin is as this product can be worn alone or under your daily/nightly skin care. I used the oil only at night and for me the oil was enough and I didnt had the urge to apply any other cream. I can directly compare the oil with my beloved Kiehl’s midnight recovery concentrate that I love so so much and I gotta tell you that I am also very very happy with the Lubex anti-age hydration oil. they both smell very nice and bring me into a SPA mood, seriously, I can really relax by smelling certain things. anyway, the Lubex anti-age hydration oil has a very subtle floral scent and the oil is being absorbed very fast by the skin. thats why it can also be used for day and night, as it wont leave a greasy mess on our faces – yay! my skin loves oils as not only my face but my whole body deals with sensitive dry skin. I will continue to use it all up and will tell you more in my future empties but be prepared that this might take a while as I expect this product to last – three drops for the face, neck and décolleté! you can find more information here »

Lubex anti – age hydration oil  44.50 CHF / 30 ml

MY PINK TIME

today I wanna show you something nice of course like every day 🙂 so let’s talk about the it-color PINK! lately I have seen so many pink things from makeup to accessories. I also found this pink wool cardigan on SALE and it goes perfectly with my pink lips and nails.

ALESSANDRO striplac
RADIANT ORCHID

maccosmetics
cremesheen LUST EXTRACT

this year’s trend or it-color will be pink 🙂 I think it is a bit silly to name a year color. for me one color would not be enough as I love to wear bright clothes. last year’s color was RADIANT ORCHID – so in fact I am actually wearing last year’s color on my nails 🙂

now I wanna continue with the question and answers

#what’s your everyday fragrance?
mmmhhmm I gotta name more than one as it’s impossible for me to only have one. I often use the CHLOÉ original or the MODERN MUSE by Estée Lauder. I also got the CHLOÉ love story and the MODERN MUSE CHIC by Esteé Lauder but I don’t wear them so often – I rather use them for special occasions.

#what’s your favorite nailpolish color?
RED RED RED <3 I love red nails!

#which skin care products are in TOP 3?
KIEHL’S midnight recovery concentrate
ELIZABETH ARDEN 8h lip balm
SISLEY pore minimizer

#which beauty products are in TOP 3?
maccosmetics LADYBUG> lipstick
ESTÈE LAUDER double wear foundation
CLINIQUE sun-kissed bronzing powder

more questions to answer an other day, right? I hope you all have a nice day – HAPPY WEDNESDAY! xx

FacebooktwittermailFacebooktwittermail

good morning

better late than never – I am ready for a lovely breakfast. berries and coffee latte are today’s choice. mmmhhmm!

HAPPY TUESDAY – today I will have to organize many things and will try to create some new fancy outfits. the weather in basel is really funny – it jumps between super cold and quiet mild. that’s why I m already in a spring mood 🙂

but first let me answer some questions regarding makeup and beauty!

#what’s my favorite make up product?
awww that’s a tough one as I would have to choose between lipstick and bronzing powder..mmmhhmm I would say LIPSTICK!

#how long does it take me for my daily makeup?
ooooh that is an easy one – my daily makeup is done super fast – it takes me about 7 minutes.

#do I use anti-aging products if yes for how long?
so, I am 31 years old soon 32 and I do use some anti-aging products. I would say I started about five years ago. my main goal is to look healthy and not super young. therefore I like products with organic oil or other natural ingredients. my favorite skin care products are KIEHL’S midnight recovery concentrate, the new LUBEX anti-age hydration oil and SISLEY black rose cream mask! by using these products over night I can slightly manipulate my skin to look fresher and healthier!

#how many times a week do I use masks or peeling/exfoliating products?
ooooh that’s a good one! I love using masks and I love to pamper my skin with peeling so it really depends on the product. some masks can be used twice per week and some only once. so for example I use the SISLEY rose mask once a week and I use the KIEHL’S over night biological peel every other night.

#what do I use to wash and clean my face?
I use something rather new the CLINIQUE foaming sonic facial soap – with or without the SONIC face brush.

wow – it took me a second to answer all these questions but it was great fun and I will answer more of your questions in the future 🙂 have a lovely day! x

possible NYE outfit

so 2014 is coming to an end and I wanna thank you for an awesome year with isawsomethingnice.ch <3 today I am going sledding with friends and will hopefully have an awesome time on the slopes. I got up super early to enjoy the day to the fullest. keep up to date with me via my FB page where I will post photos of us snow bunnies. as soon as I will be back at home I will change and take photos of my NYE outfit.

this is one possible outfit. as I will have a lovely dinner at home I can wear something less winter-ish – at least for the dinner. in my city there is always a firework on the river and I might go and check that out – so for sure there I will consider a warmer outfit. HAPPY NEW YEAR my friends! xx

something new

I am really looking forward to January 2015 as there will be new products by L’OCCITANE. I am super happy to be able to try these buggers now and I will let you know what I think about them as soon as I have used them. As I love cleansing oils I am looking very much forward to cleansing my face with the new Huile Demaquilante and pamper it afterwards with the lovely Crème Confort Légère.

Karité Huile Demaquilante 100ml
Crème Confort Légère 50ml

“when Olivier Baussan first learned of the unique properties of shea butter he found himself at an airport in Africa. very impressed by the history of this sacred tree whose nuts are harvested mostly by women, he gave up his first order for shea butter a few weeks later.

at that time – about thirty years ago -the shea butter was sold only in local markets . since then, it has changed the lives of women in Burkina Faso. the solidarity partnership began with ten to twenty women- today over 15,000 women work in that sector.

for L’Occitane Shea Butter has become a care component with cult status. it has paved the way to economic independence for the women of Burkina Faso. the international success is shared with the co-operatives in a sustainable and equitable partnership that makes the regional production of shea butter with the highest biological quality possible.

in 2013 L’ Occitane was the key player in the development of the market for fair trade shea butter with his record order of 660 tons of shea butter. the United Nations Development Programme (programme des nations unies pour le développement / UNDP ) awarded L’Occitane due to his involvement in Burkina Faso as an exemplary company.”
